NYC folks - neighborhood opinion

I'm asking for a friend who's moving up there soon. Anyone know what the neighborhood is like around 526 W 147th St? Thanks in advance!

My daughter lived on 130th at Lennox for a couple of years (moved to Brooklyn with the other hipsters two years ago). She just said that your address is on the west side of Harlem which is good. It's a neighborhood in transition, so it could go either way.

Public information link on the NYPD site: NYPD - Precincts There is a clickable PDF link for the compstat figures of the Pct approx two weeks ago. It's a fairly straight-forward read regarding crime stats and their trends up/down or stagnant for week, month, year, 2 yr, 5 yr & 21 years. |
