Wife's new wheels

Went to the Volvo dealer today to see how much we would take it in the shorts to trade our 2013 C70 convertible in because it's getting too small for the kids. We were 18 months into a 4 year lease on the C70. Walked out with this S60R PoleStarT6 AWD (photo below) for a smokin' deal. Man does it haul a**! Expected to walk out discouraged...got 0% financing and free and clear of my lease. Payment is slightly higher but didn't have to pay anything to get out of the lease. Nice!!

Congrats! You're going to love it! My wife is on her second month in the XC60R Polestar AWD. It's a rocket! She LOVES it…and that's coming from a 997S.

Volvo is cutting some great deals right now.

It is a rocket! For the money it's a lot of car especially for a sub-5 second 0-60 time with all wheel drive. I've had a couple other Volvos over the years, they were all good solid cars, but I'm really impressed with how refined this one feels. Happy New Year!! Will be putting some miles on this baby in 2015.

That is good news. Being from Volvo country I Always felt they are tractors to drive. That has apparently changed. Good for Volvo!

Not a tractor at all. Here's the newest comparison numbers I could find:

2012 BMW M3 Coupe: 0-60 mph 4.4; 4.0L V8; RWD; 2door; Starting price $62K
2014 Volvo S60R PolestarT6: 0-60 mph 4.7; 3.0L L-6; AWD; 4door; Starting price $47K

Not bad considering it's a 4-door family hauler. This will be a fun car. Only downside I see is no manual transmission. Although the Geartronic shifts pretty darn smooth and quick in manual mode. Transmission does have sport-auto mode as well which seems to work nicely too.

I used to have a Volvo 850 Turbo and I would still have it today if I hadn't smacked a deer at 75 MPH! It was a wonderful car for the highway and very fast by sedan standards.
