I also have nothing against thrown_hammer, but if he wants to get pouty and leave just because someone suggested he post his car ad in the appropriate place, then I think he deserves a little ribbing.

I don't imagine he's really gone and if he is, then it will have been for silly reasons.

I thought he said he was getting a '74 with a 3.2 (envy of the SC crowd)? If so then why leave this board? Hopefully not because some folks expressed negative feedback on what ever that car is that he's trying to sell Hell I'm a newbie on this BBS and really haven't taken any hits yet, but on others I sure have, it comes with the territory.

NOthing is for free in this world.

Boards like this quickly become boring when all you talk about is oil pressure, leaks, and what's the best wax to buy. Hell there's probably a fair share of identies on this board that are totally ficticious. In real life I drive a Chevy Chevette, white with a real nice black interior, and a 930 turbo tail. You should see the stereo. I get tons of chicks with this car.

Alive and well Dennis! I enjoy reading the posts here. I have to admit I have grown a bit bored with hanging out here to much. Loving my car is one thing 24/7 on the computer is another. Some real good people visit here, some good info too!

Hammer,

Don't take off just because a few people didn't like your car or were rude. They are the minority out there, everyone has different tastes and likes. He!! I know most people don't like the can-can interior in my black cab, but its mine so I really dont give a rats behind what they think...

Plus you might run into some issues with 3.2 transplant car.

Damn you bully's....if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it.

Now if Hammer would have asked everyones opinion on his car, then he would have been prepraed for the negative feedback, which would have been acceptable, but he was just trying to be nice.

just my thoughts, take them for what they are.

Bill

Nostatic - I must have joined the board after the incidents that caused you to gain such a "thick skin." I've only noticed what funny comments you post. (Is your sense of humor a side effect of Lexol??) JK

Maybe Wayne can answer this.

I don't think Wayne can help a bunch of people who are here to teach and be taught..people come here in all types of "moods".. different styles/different levels of excitment..it's a package deal with people..no one comes here to hurt anyone..we all want to see someone who is serious about the 911 succeed.......Ron

Sarah: You missed one of the high points of this BB. Nostatic received marital conselling from many on this board, after his wife made him sell the 87 Carrera he bought last year. As I recall, Jack Olsen provided some illuminating tips on how to manipulate a marriage therapist. BigBPainta revealed that he keeps a secret stash of money hidden from the wife, for upgrading his Porsche portfolio. Others advised Nostatic to get rid of the wife instead of the Porsche. What fun it was ... just like afternoon TV.

I remember a thread not too long ago about this very thing. Anything you want to tell us now, Sarah?

Wow, for once I agree with Brian993. But, then again I'm sweating and the room is spinning violently. I actually wish I had the time many have to post here 24/7 about trivial things, but I don't. I gotta work.

Ya see fella's its like this, this bbs is actually kinda boring in essence. But add a little drama and ouila you have a bunch of grown men (myself included) behaving like a bunch of cackling hens. I think it is *****ing hilarious and used to do it quite often and on purpose. Now thats entertaining. verum verum verum ah verum verum verum!!! MAN ITS GONNA BE A LONG WINTER!!!!!!

This board not only is very helpful with many projects, at times,
it is just funny as hell!!!

I also had my car out in Detroit today with the top down!

Okay, then that's my excuse too. I frankly am the poorest of all you Board Members at remembering who is who. Ask Warren. I am clueless about some stuff.

But not about others. I teach a class to young people on Sundays (yes, you probably guessed it) and I would agree that humility is power.

For the record, I moved Thrown's post to the classifieds. I think there's a fine line between allowing discussions about selling a car (the 'what is my car worth?' posts) and simple for-sale ads. I think for-sale ads need to be moved to the classifieds, or we risk opening the door to a lot of spam posts. In the case of Thrown's car, he was actively discouraging discussion about the car, so I moved it to the classified section, leaving a reference to the thread in the 911 Tech session, so the discussion could continue.

I agree with Wayne that not all the comments made about the car were polite. But that's a separate issue.

If Thrown doesn't want to post here anymore, I'll miss his input. But I don't think he got any more grief than has been doled out to others on the board.
