My daughter came home from school with this. The teacher said the car runs on saltwater. It implies you fill up at the Santa Monica Pier. Of course not. The salt water is an electrolyte carrying energy that needs to be "charged". What is very interesting however is the fact that this means the energy can be stored in a liquid that can be filled into the car (exchanged) at a filling station. I imagine the electrolyte can then be re-charged. Much easier than charging a battery or exchanging a solid battery.

You are probably asking how close this is to production. That I don't know. It looks one down side is the energy density - much of this salt water needed for a "fill". Just wanted to respond to the "runs on salt water" claim. Looking forward to this thread!

I could imagine they would sell far more units if they kept the same style , but cut the 920 HP in half to (only 460) and doubled the 373 mile cruising range to about 750 miles. I understand that they are trying to stretch the limits of capability, but no one needs 920 HP.

At first glance it looks very exciting!!! (If you ignore Elvis speaking with a German accent)

But I suspect like a lot of things this is years away.

1. How would you exchange the spent and charged fluid? (I can imagine a pump filling station with the discharged fluid being removed and then replaced with charged fluid)

2. Could you plug it in at home and recharge the fluid on board?

Also... Is the charged fluid dangerous if touched with bare skin?

I like it and yes it will be very interesting to see what the trickle down from this will be (once developed what it will look like in a more practical coupe/sedan)
