Every morning, Lipton's in my big Porsche mug with honey and lemon...3 cups.

Tea? Tetleys Tea. I like the traditional British teas like Tetleys and Typhoo . So much so that I hardly ever drink coffee. Earl Grey and herbal teas don't do it for me.

I like my tea pretty strong - I let it steep several minutes and then add milk and some sugar. Teas are like wine and beer having lots of different flavours. You should try several kinds because there some really good ones. Another one for you Baz is Yorkshire Gold which you can probably find in a British store in the US or if you travel to the UK.

Thanks Guy and all you other guys for posting....I really appreciate your input.

Last night I went through my pantry and dug out some tea I didn't realize I had. Quite an assortment....

This morning I had some Bigelow Earl Grey with honey and a splash of half & half. Pretty good.

There are so many out there to try and eventually I will get around to trying some of those mentioned here, including the British teas you mentioned, Guy.

For now I want to just go through my current inventory. Will post more when time allows.

Cheers mates!

I do really like the citrusy flavor of Earl Grey.

I didn't even mention the tea that I grew up on. It's VERY southern style. Usually Lipton tea, I think that has a TON of sugar added. I think it's usually got about 2 cups of sugar per pitcher. I don't ever make it myself, but when I visit my mom and grandmother, they make some for old times sake. We all love it, but I don't think any of us drink it regularly.

I like teas-Oolong is my favorite. No sweeteners or dairy.

I like this store. Check to see if there is one near you. They do tastings which help you find something new.

Yes the loose leaf teas at teavana are good. Pricey, but good.

I buy my tea from adagio.com. Better than teavanna IMHO. My favorites are green tea with toasted rice, and an earl gray with blue flowers mixed in.

Canadian tea is alright, pretty acceptable - good emergency substitute in the US. The supply of real tea could be pretty flakey outside major metro areas, even just a few years ago..

I actually never take the tea bag out; boiling water, dash of milk, irritate and walk. Took me years to stop putting sugar in coffee, but I've not put sugar in tea for 3 decades - ruins the taste.

Tetley's is fine tea, but give PG Tips a try, if you can find it (pretty cheap on Amazon - cheaper even than CostPlus). "Tips" refers to it being made only with the top two leaves and the flowering tops - e.g. the youngest part of the plant.

"American tea"? Please. Liptons and Bigelows - I tried hard to drink that stuff and just failed miserably. Even if you don't just make it with hot water from the coffee faucet (heresy! sacrilege!!) it's just awful - weak, no taste. It won't even stew if you put 4-5 bags in a cup. No prizes for guessing how I know this...

"Liptons" was originally a Scottish brand - but they don't market their black "tea" in the UK. It'd probably cause riots if they tried..

It's just being separated by a common language. Like calling Anheuser-Busch Budweiser "beer". I might quite enjoy one on a hot day - but it's not "beer" to me....

Taylors Yorkshire tea is excellent, but I drink decaffeinated Earl Grey, Asda own brand( they are owned by Walmart so you may find it there). Hawaiian Mango flavoured black tea is superb, but unobtainable here unfortunately.

I drink it with zero crap added. Love it.

btw for those of you who do decaf you may want to research the methods of removing the caffeine.

also will occasionally drink spiced chai.

I have never heard of Taylors Yorkshire tea. Is it like a breakfast tea or regular tea?

And Spuggy in Canada we have an acceptable supply of teas but not as good a range as the UK.

Another thing I notice is the range of tastes of water in each country. For example Typhoo tea made in the UK tastes different from that made in Canada. Also the milk you add can make a difference. For some reason milks and other dairy products such as cheese in the UK have more intense flavour than in Canada. The search goes on for the perfect cup of tea but I think I have reached the pinnacle.

Dusting off the 5 year old thread with an update!

BTW - always interesting to go back and see some of the posts from older members who kinda dropped off the radar.

But I digress......

Friend of mine mentioned he was drinking this so I bought some and will have later tonight before going to bed.

The tea bag has a Bob Marley quote on it --- so must be some good sheet!

I still love white, green and oolong teas, but I've started drinking more dark and black teas. Lately I've been on a kick drinking tea Brit style with cream and sugar (well, I'm using honey).

I used to really like the teas that I got from teavana, but that business appears to have morphed into something COMPLETELY different from what they were. I've found a decent tea place that's just a couple of miles down the road, although I've not found anything like the English Breakfast that I used to get from teavana.

Dang, Baz! It took you five years to go through your leftovers in the pantry? 😂

No tea for me, except an occasional sweet tea.

China black tea. NO milk and sugar.

Not to be confused with black tea; it's different stuff.
