Houston Brethren
Trying to figure out a 4-5 day trip in March with the kids.
What's to do in Houston with a 14 and 11 yr old in tow. Other than NASA. Thanks |
Corpse Christi is what to do in Houston
|
Victoria is an awesome vacation spot in TX.

Galveston/Moody Gardens
|
One of your kids is a musician IIRC, Houston Symphony is well thought of and the Hobby Center is quite nice. March could bring 80 for temps or 40. Galveston has an indoor water park that is pretty cool. Schlitterbahn. 2nd the motion for Moody Gardens, really impressive aquarium. St Arnold brewery tour is nice. Indoor parachute spot just opened nearby. Visit a park called Washinton on the Brazos aka the birthplace of Texas. Its about an hour outside of Houston, combine with a tour of the Blue Bell ice cream factory in nearby Brenham and an early bluebonnet season and you will have a lovely day.

Yeah, Nasa, Moody Gardens, maybe battleship Texas, Zoo, maybe Kemah or the beach.
|
Museum of Science, Imax, planetarium complex at Herman Park. Brazos Bend State Park is not too far. Plenty of alligators and other critters.
|
Kemah Boardwalk, for sure. You can spend all day there including a fine seafood lunch or dinne.
|
Spring Break is not really an ideal time for a family trip to any place along the TX coast...
NASA, museums, Galveton beaches, Kemah will most likely be very crowded so be prepared. And I wouldn't go anywhere near Port A. during spring break... |
Oh, that is right, spring break in Galveston, not a family friendly environment, though Moody Gardens should be okay.
|
You might check with the Lone Star Flight Museum (now at the old Ellington AFB) and see if they have any flights scheduled for the B-17 or B-25 during that time. Fairly expensive but I guarantee a 45 minute flight around Galveston in either one of those will be something they will never forget. It's an eye-opening experience.....

Thanks guys.
Will look into all the suggestions. |
