You know that feeling....

when you reach into the pocket of a jacket you have not worn in a long time and pull out a $10 spot?

Just happened to me but multiplied 1,300 x's.

Have a financial product with Prudential that I could not find this years statement for so opened a web account to access the info I needed.

On the main page of accounts was an IRA with $13k in it.

For some stupid reason they've been sending the IRA statements to the apartment I lived in for 6 months before the wife and I got married 20 years ago.

I had no idea that money was there.

Woot!

Hookers and blow at Scotts house this weekend!

Oh Haha 04-10-2015 03:47 PM

Yup. Got my stock statement today and the amount increased by ALOT since the last time I looked. WOOHOO!

I bought stock in my former employer out of each paycheck but never paid attention to it. I just figured it was there if we ever needed it.

It's not 13K but a little bit more emergency cash available if we need it.

Two of us today dropped $100 each for a guy that went just went so beyond, we were shocked when at the same moment we each pulled out a 100 spot for him.

I think this is why my wife does my laundry.

I think this is why I do my own laundry. :)

Years after my dad passed away, I went on this web site and found he had a mutual fund that hadn't been closed out. Me and each of my surviving siblings got a little over $3000.

I was gonna say "Dude, I borrowed your jacket a while back and forgot to take my $$."

But you had to go a ruin it. :p

I was just happy to find my lost cell phone once in a jacket pocket.

For 30 years I never touched my grandfather's gift of a tiny bit of GE stock at birth.

I slept on couches, basements, and in the back seats of cars over winter and worked and went hungry instead.
(but I had it better than many homeless.)

When I later reached my lowest point in life (back stabbed by all stated security institutions designed to help and injured and despondent in life), I finally decided to fall back upon family savings.

Well, unknowingly it seemed Bank of New York bought out grampa's bank and sent me a single letter to a known old address.
"Your account is considered abandoned and will be forfeited in 30 days."

Yup, you read that right.
The bank was going to steal everything.
Life savings gone with the stoke of a keypad.
Even the experienced broker had a difficult time getting them to transfer my account.

Bank of New York: You are thieves!

I am married. If I forget money in my pocket, it is gone the next time I put that particular article of clothing on the next time.

Helped out a deaf family with a REALLY f***ed up minivan (a friend sent them my way). Put brakes and control arms on it for free (they paid for parts). Thought I was doing my part. They have no money.

They cant get it to pass emissions, blows smoke. I tell her there's nothing I can do. They need to spend thousands to get the thing right...

Immediately, I'm the guy who takes advantage of deaf people, ripped them off, they go around telling people Im a jerk, etc...
