Based on my experience this is bad advice. I'm a businessman with an engineering degree and I was academically unprepared for business when I started. I could have used a lot of business courses. I should say having the engineering degree opened a lot of doors and garnered respect when I went into business after my engineering career. The business school grads I associated with after I started my business were kind of in awe of a guy who understood calculus and physics and how things work.
