Douche bag thread with pics

Let me start with this asshat. Pulls onto the freeway behind me and I'm certain he's a CHP. Takes about 5 minutes to go by and I realize he's just riding an ex-CHP bike and wearing a jacket and helmet to mimic a cop. The helmet had some sort of emblem on the front that made it look very real. You can see he's even got some sort of arbitrary symbol on the fairing where a CHP emblem would be. Guy must have been 70+ years old.

What is it with these guys? They just want to get off having every car slow down and be nervous? Some kind of power trip from a wanna-be cop? What a first class ass hole.

wannabees, couldn't pass the tests to make it.

Could have been on his way to a Village People reunion...

I know how you feel. Those guys with Fremont Mazda stickers on their cars. You'd think the dealerships would pay for that advertising..

bugstrider 04-19-2015 08:16 PM

Not sure what he is trying to portray with a triangle banded by black. Doesn't even look like the CHP emblem.

He might be a new order of "Heavens Gate". Is there an inbound comet anytime soon?????

billybek 04-19-2015 08:21 PM

OTOH, it certainly makes people aware of where he is in traffic!
Survival technique?

I agree! I was totally having a great day in the east bay today in my GT3RS martini edition, and this poser shows up.

;)

Have seen guys like this a couple times...turns out they are the guys who ride herd on large funeral processions. Obv, no one dead w/ this guy...but he might be going to work. Pisses me off, too.

Haven't seen the bikers do it, but around here the "cool" thing is to buy old police Crown Vics and keep the spot lights on them. Some even paint them like black and whites. I find it ironic.

I recall a British motorcyclist who was hauled up before the magistrates due to his strategically stickered 'POLITE' motorbike.

Charged with impersonating an officer of the law his defence of encouraging courtesy amongst fellow road users fell on deaf ears.....

I blame his parents.

One of my friends set his mom up in a Crown Vic with cheap hubcaps, a few added antennas and tinted windows. She looks just like the unmarked cars the cops use around here.

She used to drive a nicer looking 4 door sedan and had several incidents where people ran into her or pulled out in front of her or cut her off. In the imitation undercover car everyone gives her lots of room and they never really knew if she was a cop or not. She has not been run into in years. She loves it.

It seems like deleting the spotlight would be more trouble than it's worth. You'd need a plug of some kind to fill the hole at least.

This one was all over the news here in MA for impersonating a cop
He got in trouble, just don't remember the details

I find it hilarious...

A few years ago I encountered a guy on I-70 east of Indianapolis who had a siren in his car. He would cruise along in the passing lane at the speed limit and when anyone would try to pass him on the right he would turn the siren on. Indiana is infamous for its unmarked patrol cars so it was plausible that he was a cop until you looked closely at the car. He had traffic backed up for a mile.

I know that must have been frustrating, but it is sort of funny.

Back when I was thinking about moving back to the Bay Area, I pretty much decided the only way I'd be able to tolerate the traffic/commute was on a motorcycle, and the safest motorcycle would be an ex-CHP bike, because even if you don't go out of your way to look like a CHP motor officer (like this guy was doing), the shape and color of the ex-CHP bike would still grab drivers' attention, and even if a second or third look tells them you're not a CHP, at least they have noticed you.

....and he doesn't even look like Eric Estrada................

These days, Eric Estrada doesn't look like Eric Estrada.

sc_rufctr 04-20-2015 08:17 AM

I'm not sure of the exact details but a local guy has a camera flash somewhere on his car and he can fire at will whilst driving along.
When someone speeds past him he hits the flash. The idea is that they immediately slow down because they think they've been photographed by a speed camera.

He's even made the news with the cops condemning his actions.

craigster59 04-20-2015 08:22 AM

There's also guys dressed in MC cop uniform riding black and white bikes. They're retired LAPD who do security and traffic control while filming on location in and around LA. Looks like the real thing, but the bikes are unmarked.
