My Crazy Uncle
Last winter my uncle built a vehicle to carry politicians in parades. He was in city government where he lives, so he ought to know what it takes. He started with a 1967 Volkswagen and a 1920s-era McCormick-Deering manure spreader. "It seemed like the perfect vehicle for a politician spreading s**t."

It is street-legal in his state. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1429990885.jpg The beater is powered by this electric motor. He can operated it remotely with a key-fob controller he has. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1429990948.jpg He can set the beater speed to match the amount of BS his politician is spreading. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1429991003.jpg You don't have to look too close to see its VW provenance. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1429991087.jpg |
All kinds of awesome.

That is too cool! Sort of reminds me of a cobbled together Model A a roommate of mine had in college. I don't remember all of its mods. The one that sort of entertained me the most was for operating the headlights. He had a house light switch on the dash with a house plugin receptacle next to it with an electric plug in it connected to a wire running out from under the dash. To turn on the head lights, you flipped the light switch. To change from low beams to high beams, you pulled out the electric plug, turned it over and plugged it in again.

That is all kinds of way cool
