ABS Scanner for VW/Audi
Hello Everyone, :)
I'm looking for a scanner to read the ABS code. What scanner are you using to read ABS for your VW or Audi? I appreciate the input. :p Thanks. |
Ross-Tech VCDS or VCDS lite. The lite version is free you just have to buy the interface cable for about $10. And have a laptop running XP.

Been wondering about this too. Thanks

Perfect, man!
I have an '03 Jetta with an ABS light. I'll PM you. |
Bought this jobbie on e-bay. Plugs into OBD port. Engine, trans, ABS, air bags.
Most importantly it can clear ABS codes, which on at least the several early 2000's I have fixed, can be the sole problem. Also they give you a book of the VagCom codes which provides more info than OBD codes. Not loads of info, just other things that can be throwing the code. E.g., If you have a VW you have probably had a coolant temp sensor code. It can also be the thermostat at fault which OBD does not reference. |
+1 on VCDS - I've been using that for years.

Here's another cheap choice, no interface cable or laptop required...
Used this recently to turn off an airbag light (yes I fixed the problem first )😃 on an '03 GTI. Scan tool U281. Very inexpensive on Amazon. Clearly not a diagnostic tool, just basic P code reader and MIL light reset tool. Covers various Audi/VW/Seat/Skoda models. Cooper Edit: Bobs link is a very similar reader to what I bought. Basic, but gets 'er done. |
