are fireworks legal where you live?

Me? i'm pretty much limited to smoke bombs and sparklers.

you? clearly the kids in West Oakland have a "contact"..they are lobbing bombs down the streets.. M80's or something of that magnitude.

i'm over it. i'll be grilling meat and drinking great beer.

A few years ago, AZ made fireworks legal. That was a brilliant move since we're in a desert with lots of dry brush and have fires almost every summer...

Safe and sane fireworks are legal in Oregon, rockets, firecrackers, etc are not -

BUT YOU'D NEVER KNOW IT!!! Because it's possible to drive less than ten miles over a bridge into Washington, fill your trunk up with enough red glare to make the Battle at Fort Sumter look like a few kids waving sparklers around, and proceed to light up the Portland sky every night for a week around the 4th of July, (and New Years Eve) and the cops just watch. It's the most incredible (incredulous) thing I've ever seen.

Garden hose patrol and pet control are the order of the day.

No, except like what you describe the "safe and sane" sparklers and smoke bombs... heck even those are illegal in my hood (Los Angeles) but a ten minute drive to the next county and you can hit up a "safe and sane" fireworks shack.

Having said that our close proximity to Mexico mean a cavalcade of M-80's, mortars, skyrockets, and all manner of "unsafe and insane" fireworks from late June to mid-July.

Back in the day I stocked up on holiday incendiaries at the Reservation just outside of Las Vegas.

I also am over the whole fireworks thing... not to mention the professional grade fireworks are crazy expensive too.

Nope not legal in Ohio other than sparklers and pavement spinners, maybe smokebombs too. this weekend I will watch most of my country neighbors shoot off an impressive display of fireworks that sometimes rivals the nearby 60,000 population town in length and intensity. I can't imagine how much they spend every year, but it is nice not having to leave home and fight the crowds. The irony about all this is that there are massive fireworks stores all along the highwaysin Ohio that will sell to anybody as long as you sign a waiver and present your I.D. that you won't light thm in Ohio.....HAHAHA.

Safe and sane in Fillmore. A guy at work sells the real deal leading up to the 4th. He even has an extra bedroom setup as a sales display area at his house. Makes about $2k profit on the 4th.

No, but you would never know it . Our entire country neighborhood lights up with fireworks every 4 th. We bought a small arsenal for ourselves, but our neighbors ( they are new to the area, only a few years, I think they are some sort of millionare frackers ) set off a display that rivals any that I have ever seen put on by a town. We don't even have to leave our yard.
Fireworks are good fun .

Yep, it is funny, we just drove to Ohio last weekend to buy all our fireworks. Phantom fireworks has stores here in Pa, but it is illegal to sell them to pa residents. So we drive to Ohio. I bet it is the same way, you can shoot over here, and buy till your hearts content.

I live on the edge between the poor area and rich area. The po folk have much better fireworks.

WA and Idaho are wide open. You get all the good stuff in Washington. My friend Debbie owns Black Cat, which has da bomb ass bombs, lol.

I'm going to help my friend Roger out this weekend selling fireworks in his little fireworks stand. I enjoy talking to customers and getting killed in the heat. I must be a sicko.

Son is bugging us to buy!

NY evidently just passed legislation that allows buying of the "safe and sane" variety during a window that is open until 7-5-15 (not entirely sure when it started as we we on vacation at Watkins Glen and noticed the vendors there!). Doesn't help with the "No, they are illegal" arguement!

Ayup, legal here. Stuff comes raining down & my cats head under the beds for a couple nights. Sounds like WWIII out there....and I do my part.

Since they built houses across the road, I can't light the field on fire no mo.

They are legal in OK outside of city limits. We are here visiting my parents and it's been a wet year so we will have to light off a few.

Yes and no.

Legal in TX but as of 2 years ago when some idiots burned an acre of the golf course and some other idiots set fire to a couple of neighbors yards they are now banned in my community.

Yes one of the nice things about NH.

The problem is a lot of the podunk local towns are restricting their use even though the state says they're legal. In a couple of towns you can actually buy them but not use them - go figure.

In the totalitarian police state of Massachusetts (only a few miles south) they're totally illegal but a lot of people drive up to cross the border, pick them up, bring them back and use them anyway.

So this is sort of like guns. You ban them and they go away, right?

I live in Craigster's hood. Not legal. You can buy the "Safe and Sane" crap in Ventura County about 1/2 hour away.
