Just watched Interstellar and I missed plenty because of the wide variations of volume. In one scene Matthew McC is basically whispering, crank up the volume to hear and a rocket engine is blasting in the next scene.

Easy to deal with given headphones and no innocent bystanders are harmed.

I liked the Gregory Peck movie from the late 50's, On the Beach, but it was not really a war movie. Post war - post bomb.

Bridge too far. I was too little but remember The Longest Day but it was gooood. Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down was pretty darn good too
