Bounty Hunter knocks on wrong door

Bounty Hunters Mistakenly Seek Oklahoma Fugitive at Phoenix Police Chief's Home

Authorities in Phoenix are investigating a tip that led bounty hunters searching for a fugitive to the home of the city's police chief.

Bounty hunter Brent Farley was arrested after he allegedly refused to leave the home of Phoenix Police Chief Joseph Yahner late Tuesday. The bounty hunters were looking for a 6-foot-3-inch, 310-pound black man who was wanted no drug charges in Oklahoma.

Instead, the 11 armed bounty hunters arrived at the home of Yahner, who is white.

"We have some -- I don't know if they're bounty hunters or what they are," the police chief's girlfriend told 911 dispatchers. "They just banged on our door and they're looking for somebody."

Police said the bounty hunters were acting on an unconfirmed tip they received through social media.

Farley, an account manager at Northstar Fugitive Recovery in Arizona, was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct. Police said he had his handgun unholstered during the confrontation outside Yahner's home and refused to leave the property.

"Even after the situation had been deescalated, one of them wouldn't leave and demanded the chief identify himself, even though the man they were looking for was a heavy-set black man," Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said.

Farley has not yet entered a plea.

I wonder if the Cop who gave them the police chiefs address is still laughing. :)

Stupidity knows no bounds. I can't believe that no one got shot. They must all be white.

Its funny now, but that situation could have turned deadly very easily.

So I guess they frown on this when someone who is not a police officer and knocks on the wrong door. If they changed positions, they could have shot the bounty hunter's dog and put his children in handcuffs and it would be a "no harm, no foul" deal.

Sounds like somebody was having a little "fun" at the chief's expense.

Every police chief should have to go through that on a monthly basis. Might help edumacate them on the real damage they do.

I find myself agreeing with the conservatives on this one. So who is it that supports militarized policing and reduced civil liberties out there??

I know you think I'm a conservative, but in reality I'm just a single-issue voter (pro-2nd Amendment). I view the 2A as a litmus test for whether a politician wants to serve or whether a politician wants to rule.

Since the Democrats are universally anti-2A, I grudgingly vote Republican. I'd prefer to vote Libertarian, but the sad fact is that's effectively a vote for Democrats.

This joker admitted on the news last night that he's not even a licensed bounty hunter. That may have something to do with him being locked up. The whole thing just seems mismanaged.

^^ Violent home invasions are not uncommon in Phoenix. One party kept a cool head in a very volatile situation.

They gave the idiot a chance to leave, and since he wouldn't, THAT is what got him arrested. Not knocking on the door.
