Spa F1 This weekend

Who are you likin' for a win this Sunday, in the rain (forecast)? Practice 1 and 2 in the books, and looks like McLaren have fallen even further yet. I'm still pi**ed at Alonso for what he did the first time at McLaren, but I now truly feel bad for Button.

Hope HE does well and Ron Dennis doesn't deserve this either. IMO. Maybe a Ferrari
1, 2 for Sunday?

I long disliked Vettel (even stopped watching F1 for a while) but my opinion of him has changed. I'd like to see Ferrari do well but it would be great to see Williams on the podium or even a win.

All sorts of penalties thrown upon McLaren.

Could care less what happens but will root for Kimi.

Yeah, I'd like to see Massa win one for Frank.

I'm interested in seeing how the new rules will change the start. Alonso says not at all, but I'm guessing at least one or two will have poor starts and lose positions. Worst case: someone at the front stalls, someone near the back doesn't see them through the cars ahead until it's too late, and slams into the stalled car at 120MPH.

Ha ha. Saw a headline that read a combined 55 grid spot penalties for the McLaren duo. Ridiculous. Maybe they should just start the race for those two cars back in Woking.

My thoughts exactly. With Grosjean 3rd. Or failing that Rosberg beating Hamilton jsut to maintain the illusion a little longer.

Ha ! they might have if you considered the old rule where if you could not puy up with grid spots, you paid with post race penalties, but I think those stupid rules were dropped. So the penalties past 22 spots on the grid are now academic ;-)

Its easy, they start the race 6 hours after the rest....McLaren is fitting headlights to their cars as we speak.

I'd like to see Kimi win, so he can improve his paychecks next year. I would love to see Massa win, but that's a huge long shot. I think Hambone has the best odds. He can be good in the rain. Maybe Vettel, after Hambone, if he gets another good start.

Hmmm...

Qualifying didn't go according to my plan... Chance of rain tomorrow seems low...

The first sector might be interesting in the first few laps.

Cool, managed to reply without review thread....

So annoyed with NBC Sports moving qualifying all over the place. I thought I had reset the recording to go on MSNBC, but I apparently failed, so now I have to wait until 11:30 CST. Looking forward to it though, Spa is one of my favorites.

Interesting race. Not happy with some of the outcome, but it looked like a beautiful weekend to be at Spa.

Track is in a lovely setting in the south of Belgium..........Been there twice.....Happy times...

Another Mercedes parade... :-/

Deschodt 08-24-2015 11:13 AM

Yes, boring, although happy for Grosjean to make the podium...

Amusing how many great passes happened with Renault engines over mercedes ones... Not the most reliable motor but clearly not the slowest either... If only they'd bring back some in-season testing we could have had real battles on track by now, Redbull is close, McLaren might join in, Toro rosso....etc.. If anyone still doubts the outcome of the season, I've got stock market tips for you (by that I mean the only way HAM loses is if he catches a real bad STD from Rihanna at this point, or gets beatup by her bodyguards)...

PS: WTH is wrong with Williams, really ?

andyt11 08-24-2015 12:26 PM

I was surprised by Williams this weekend. I was expecting them to go really well at Spa like the normally do on power circuits.

Nice result for Grosjean.

Area behind the kurb at turn 4 should be grass.
