A friend of mine has a blog and a guy was causing a lot of grief in the comment section. With only a screen name, I was able to track down many details about him. He crossed a few lines so I asked him (by first name) in the comment section if his wife (by first name) knew what a jerk he was and how she'd feel if she received printed copies of his post at her place of business (by profession). Shut him up really quickly and my friend was extremely grateful to have the guy off her board. |
Lee - you bring interwebs stalking to a whole new level!
In my search for a new home this year, I spent many a nite searching the webs for past owner info. Case in point - the home we bought was an estate sale. I found out that the deceased owner, an electrical engineer, was part of the development team for the original Space Invaders and Pong arcade machines. He was also involved with the development of the trident sub, harpoon missle and even the space shuttle. When I build out my man cave, Space Invaders and Pong will definitely be part of the room, as a tribute to the orginial owner... -Z. Ps - Lee - does that give you enough info to find me?? |
Get a Bentley instead.

There are a TON of Bentleys around here for some reason. This little blue number caught my eye the other day: Fort Myers | 2012 Bentley Continental GT GTC Convertible
I really like your Healey btw |

I know you guys are gonna kill me on this one ... But I don't love the GTCs as much ... Bentley Convertibles are to showy for even a bragger like me ;)

Had an old TR4 but a TR4a ? Brings back memories of cool summer night on PCH. The 'a' model is a 6 cylinder isn't it ?
A most entertaining thread... I hate ALMOST everyone here too......you know who you are. |

On the TR4a ... It had IRS and a Woden dash ... Mostly ... Although there are some live axle TR4as all TR4 cars were live (solid) axle cars... They all have the same 2.2 liter big 4 cylinder engine up to 1968 where they retained the Micholetti body design but with a 2.5 liter inline 6 cylinder engine they became a TR250 for one year then in 69 the same engine continued in the TR6 through 1976 ... The engine and transmission in the tr4a actually is the same as the earlier TR3 and TR3a dating back to the 50s...
|
On Lee's comments on convertibles ... I like targas too ... Not as beautiful as a 911 coupe as they lose that great clean descending line from the A pillar to their ass ... But open air driving without as much turbulence ... When I started in the car hobby 15 years ago I remember not understanding why anybody would want any car that wasn't a convertible ... Now I really lean away from them ... I feel embarrassed in an open air car often as your just hanging out there with no privacy ... Again I think I'm just getting old ... The market probably hasn't changed ...or has it ... I don't hear that old saying ... "" when the top goes down the prIce goes up ". As much as I used to ... What you you guys think??
|
Don't like convertibles either. Wouldn't mind having one, but wouldn't go out and buy one either. Maybe if I win one in a raffle. :)

why are people such pricks on the internet... |
Wow, I love my
Pelican Brothers, have a great weekend fellows! Welcome aboard Philly |

It's kinda amazing what you can sleuth out with Google. I've found some things I really didn't want to know about potential clients when trying to track down names and phone numbers on the web!!! |

I am totally a ragtop guy, prefer small cars too, so the Bentley does not do a thing for me. What is it with Jeepsters, is it because they look like Tonka Toys? Phil, as long as you have your sense of humor, you will do just fine around here. |
RR, Bentley loses apx 50% of value in the first year....why cause if you can afford let us say 200K for a used one you can afford to buy a new one at 300K. Also people who are in the new RR Bentley league don't seem to maintain their cars very well as oh well in a coupla years I will get a new one.
Mr Phil apparently is collectable hustler, in that he buys, sells and upgrades as he goes. |
I hoped this thread would be about Blue Blockers. :(

I'd like to have that Bentley in white or cream.
I don't do black cars...had only one and tough to keep clean, and they're hot in the sun. . Mmm...Jeepster, gooood. |

Man some of you all don't have any chill. What if the guy was truly impressed with the CGT and listing the cars he owned as a measure how the CGT stands up against. You never get the emotions through internet. Some of you need to relax and lean back, watch. Some people calling him fake, calling him not having the cars, how do you feel like now? Like a dip s h i t right? :D
Yeah Philly came a little extravagant with his post, but after all ripping apart, still responds. Anyways... PS: CGT is an amazing machine. I work on them, they are a bit messy to work on, but delight to drive. If you need brakes, shoot me pm, I will cross reference you pads and rotors so you can avoid thousands of dollars from the dealer. Same applies to bunch of other repair, and maintenance items. |
Good to see you've been hangin' out here a bit more of late!! I read any post of yours that I happen to see and consider this high praise from the fella that brought us "not haunted" and "you forgot your truck!"SmileWavy

I hate me too ... I think I'll sell my Parerai watch and my Ferragamo shoes and all of my cool cars .. Ill take up yoga ... And I'll move to a duplex ... Next to Steve Carlton and Pro_sha911 ... And I'll spend the preponderance of my time bashing others that unfairly have been more fortunate than me ... Then I will love me ...

I offer a 1976 Timex in trade for the watch. It even works, and it has a gold stretchy band!

Philly, you haven't "arrived" unless you own a hovercraft.;):D
Funny thread. That Fiat 850 was so cool, I'm very serious. |
Quote:
I used to have a Fiat 850 Sedan... had 20k kms. Great little car but it was too rusty for me to do anything with at the time. I really wish I'd kept that one and just threw it in storage, possibly the only car I regret selling. Hot tip of the day: it might be surprising to someone new, but this is a pretty working class forum, and the mob can get a bit touchy if they catch a whiff of pretension. There are plenty of members here who are MUCH more fortunate than the rest of us, and likely you, but they are laid back fellers who wouldn't want to come across as braggarts. Not saying that you are doing so intentionally, just saying there might be a predisposition here to call that kind of stuff out, even you hadn't intended to come across that way |
Please post pics of your Parerai watch (or is it Panerai?). I'd like to drool over it and wish I was you.
