The war on cargo shorts. Where'd this come from?

I've been wearing cargo shorts since I was about 5. Comfy. Practical. Pretty much the only type of shorts I own... and in AZ we wear shorts all the time!

Now it seems the fashion police have declared them a crime. I've seen several references to them as a joke in various places - on par with black socks and sandals.

Oh well. Style was never my thing. I'm sure I'll still be wearing them when they become "retro cool" someday.

Last week at the gym, I saw a personal trainer wearing cargo shorts. His credibility was drastically lowered in my book. I do not know why I think this, but I do! Sure, cargo shorts are versatile for the everyday wear, but at the gym? Leave those pocketed pants in the drawer for later.

Okay, so maybe not at the gym.

However their utility is unquestioned in my book.

I've wondered the same thing and near as I can tell it is the skinny jeans guys and their women friends.

Soon to be laughed off the filed are such things as:

-Drinking beer out of a bottle

As such, having Cargo Undies and Cargo shorts/pants is kinda redundant and flaunting an air of conspicuous excessiveness.

Cargo shorts are great for stashing an extra dime bag, lighter and smokes, cooking spoon, gangsta roll, needles and spare nine. I ain't givin' mine up for nuttin'!
