Might have a Female Cattle Dog needing a new home

I'm not sure yet but my sons girlfriend has a 9 month old or so pup that might need a home. The girlfriend lives with her folks who are not keen on the pup

I would take her in but she's too hyper for my two males.

I will post more details if the pup comes up for adoption

As soon as it's official I will post pics and info. She's a snuggle dog and If Joanna's MS wasn't so severe I would keep her

Don't those dogs need a lot of space to run and a lot of activity?

Correct, they are not couch potatoes, but ACD's don't need a farm or big yard. They are excellent at getting their owners off the couch to go for a hike or a long walk. Their enthusiasm will keep their owners in shape.

My boy Tank is 9 and has cancer. I wont torture him with a new puppy in his last days, but the ACD will be my next dog.

Let me get in the line as well.

I have had a Red Heeler for over ten years. Great dog...very in tune.

A neighbor has a few. He has a small yard with other projects going on.
Never seen a problem there.
They do surprisingly well in a small space with occasional exercise.

Good patience and focus from what I've seen.
Sit and wait is default.
ACD dogs seem to be capable of actually learning and adapting, unlike my puggle.

(FWIW, Greyhounds are also rumored to be smart but neurotic couch potatoes.)

Jim - my wife would probably be VERY happy to come play with your puppy. Just ask Mike Z, his dachshunds love when she visits.

Awaiting photos.

Does the pup get along with a**hole cats?

I miss my ACD, she was the best dog I have ever had. Yes for the first 9 years of her life she was very high energy, but if you have a back yard you can let her run off her energy. That will help. Just be prepared for the most loyal, friendly, fun and loving dog you will ever meet.

Had to put her down last year, cancer and hip dysplasia. Made it to 13. Wish they lived longer..

I've had four heelers. Great breed.
