the Pope

Anyone going to see the Pope?

Not in this forum, I hope! --->>> PARF

Ha, silly me - such an atheist. It never really occurred to...

aigel 09-23-2015 12:44 AM

Yes, only 1.2 billion people are members of his church, easy to forget! :D

Bill Douglas 09-23-2015 12:46 AM

Oh I've been to his church - just for looks. a day trip to vatican city. I'm just not the praying kind (I feel a bolt of lightening might come down a get me.)

I feel the guy deserves some respect. Not just lump him in with the Kardasians and David Beckham as UK Daily Mail has done ;)

I wrestle with my own beliefs and am not Catholic but by all accounts I've seen, the guy walks his talk...and that's good enough for me.

In Philadelphia...... He better be able to change water into wine..... he has been a bonanza to the local government, police, news and transit agencies..... everyone wants apart of the peoples pope.......

Paul_Heery 09-23-2015 02:58 AM

The guy has his own unique style, much different from his predecessors. Any head of state that chooses to roll up to the White House in a Fiat 500L is OK by me.

Yeah. He walks the talk about the poor by strolling around the Vatican City palaces being the most expensive real estate on the planet surrounded by truly priceless art and artifacts, with hundreds of personal assistants attending to his every whim, thousands of bureaucratic minions, millions of adoring fans and perhaps a billion worshippers. I'm pretty sure he did not fly coach on his own dime, either. The little ride on the Fiat was a nice touch, though.

That's some walkin'.

Heck, he's a lot more humble than our POS leader at present.

You can't change years of behavior/tradition overnight. I like the guy.

ckelly78z 09-23-2015 04:17 AM

I would gladly meet this Pope if I were somewhere near where he is going to be, I feel he is a good humble servant rather unlike some of his oppulant predecessors, and even our own POTUS. The world would be a better place if we heeded his advice.

Crowbob 09-23-2015 04:29 AM

Agreed. There's no way to change a couple millennia of behavior/tradition and Pope Francis is well aware of this.

His being Pope secures his position of wealth and luxury. Were he truthful, he would abandon the lavish lifestyle of being Pope and tend to a tiny flock somewhere in the desolate plains of Argentina or wherever he came from. The chances of that happening are close to zero, I think.

Nevertheless, per him, everybody else has succumbed to the demon of the dollar and must repent. It's about time we got a Pope who is proving to be expert at PR. He claims to not be a liberal, a rich one at that. That photo in the Fiat proves it. He so humble.
