And for the record... I believe regardless of the law criminals like this will always be able to obtain firearms and body armour.
The black market for this is global.

I could even buy this stuff in Aus (brand new in it's original packaging). All it takes is the right connections and money.

Body armour is banned in Manitoba, Alberta and BC. One province in the East has legislation pending. Police are exempt and anyone who has a reasonable need for it. IE Armoured car and security personal can apply for a permit to own it.

Nothing proves that better than this, 1st, the guy was a wanted criminal, didn't he know it was illegal for him to have a gun??
