Iconic sedans
Love them. Not sure why but as I've aged, these sirens sing their song louder each year. Modding them seems to make them even better!
Anyone else fond of the old gals?? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1444264416.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1444264463.jpg |
Suicide door Lincoln? Love them.

Pavulon,
I am with you ... my daily driver has been a BMW e28 M5 for the last 10 years (I am on my 3rd). ps your screen name is the best ... as long as keep breathing ;) |
Going on the record as hating eddie914 and SoCal911T!!!SmileWavy
In fairness, I'll admit to owning an E34 M5. As nice as it is, E28s are all sorts of sexy German. |
Don't hate me too much ... my only Porsche is a 914 ...
|
Friend of mine had an 528e with a 5 speed, hence I was always working on it. I did love driving that car though. Never driven an M5 of that vintage, but it has to be nice.
I had a 635CSi I wish I would have kept. Black with red interior. That thing was classy. |
Ok but you're doing better than me--I've only owned one P-car and it was a disaster:( And a lot of 914's are pretty sweet themselves!!

My old 914.
I really should have kept THAT one.. and the 280Z under the cover, and the... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1444271695.jpg |
My gramps has had one of these forever. He used to get a new one every couple years.. To me its iconic.. Surprising how good on gas they are if you drive em right.

N Cheese,
BEAUTIFUL 914! If it wasn't for duck tape and safety wire my 914 might fall apart ... |
|
I owned a 1978 BMW E12 530i 4-speed many years ago. I remember the wheels were so light I could lift one up with just my pinky finger. It was one of the best cars I'd ever owned and I still miss it :)
|
The E34 is the last BMW that interests me. I love both the E28 and E34.
What about the original Porsche sedan? http://eurosportimports.com/admin/im...s207/E5001.JPG |
Too many to list...
Mid-'80s Benzes E38 (seriously) late '50s-'60s Cadillacs '80s/'90s Volvos, but I like wagons better Basically I have no taste. |
|
|
^^^^^^That mid 60's black Caddy Limo sittin on the pavement is just too kewl............^^
|
I had one of these for 30+ years and finally sold it. It was a nice autobahn cruiser. Bought in Germany when I was stationed over there in '72.

Because it's not a sports car shape...So, it's a sedan. |

Not iconic but best described as forgotten. The 1974 Austin Marina sedan offered in the US. Leyland / MG drivetrain. My brother had a US import in this same color. Believe it or not, was very reliable and much better than my Audi. LOL

It was fast and comfortable & super reliable. By god it was tough! |
Don't forget the MkII Jag; in its day it was unbeatable.
And more recently, a future classic, the Mazda RX8( just don't drive it anymore until the value goes up, then let the next owner contend with the worry about the engine). Lancia Flaminia, real quality. Bristol 405, superb in their day, very expensive now |
I think this is quite iconic, hauls a family of four adults in comfort, huge trunk for Home Depot and Airport runs, cold A/C, 26mp/g and as fast as a WRX with a few bolt-ons.

The 323 GTX is definitely iconic, and pretty much a unicorn. I've tried and failed to find a nice one, several times. Another similar Japanese rally-bred unicorn:
