No freaking Rovers, ever. If it's not slobbering fluids all over your driveway, it's empty. A magnificent POS.

I know they have some reliability issues. Personally I would not buy one (Land Cruiser will always be the first choice) but I love to own a Land Rover 107 from the 70s. Every Nat. Geo. mag I used to see when I was a kid, there it was, a 107 in some exotic land. Now, they aren't cheap and they have the technology and know how to build something solid, but why don't, or can't they?

Love the Wrangler, I've owned a 2000, 2011, and a 2008 Unlimited. It's hard to beat driving with the top and doors off, great experience.

Dont forget that at least 90 percent of LandRovers sold in Europe are diesels, not the petrol powered
pones you guys are referring to.

Best source of parts for older rovers is Rovers North.
Parts for Series, Defender, Discovery, Range Rover, LR2, LR3 & Accessory Lines - Home Page - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts If you're looking at 'older' Range Rovers (known as the 'Classic' or RRC), the '95 is the one everyone wants, due to its 'soft dash'. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MKWjkQOJmcI Check for rust, they've got several areas that a prone. If you have $$ & really want a RRC, there are outfits that restore them to a pretty high standard. Search for 'Congleton'.

Sure the older Rovers can be a chore but they are way cool. I am looking around for a 2002 or earlier RR Defender 130. Basically a double cab pickup truck. Spain is the place to buy em as the climate is kind and they are relatively inexpensive. When it gets here I plan to Gucci the rig out. I'll try to find a pic. As others have said, Marlon Perkins from Wild Kingdom rolled these rigs. The RR for me always hints of adventure.
