Magnus' new whip.
I forgot how full of haters this place was. Never mind.
|
"All the heat that builds up in my front fender wells drives me crazy"...... said no Porsche owner ever.

I think we can all agree that this guy shouldn't drive anything fast enough to warrant cooling the brakes. |
Vents aren't put there for getting rid of heat...

Haters gonna...
I think it looks great with the exception of the 964 rear reflector. Crosses too many generations and doesnt flow with the smoothness of the rest of the car. Imho. -Steve |

Besides a few design flourishes here and there, yay or nay... it probably handles really, really, really, ridiculously well.

Anyone have a link to the car?
|
What was the original link that was removed by OP ?
Is this it? Stance Works - Magnus Walker's Porsche 964 |
7.88:1 power to weight (weight to power for he anal types). Under 2400lbs for a 964 is impressive.
I don't love the nose, but I love the interior. Not sure I like how the rear tires stick out compared to the front. Overall a very nice build. Must be a kick in the arse good time to drive. |
I like some of the elements, but...
"As the eye moves past the louvers on the driver's side fender, it finds a small finned cap in place of the large fuel flap that once resided there. In an attempt to refine the lines of the 964, Magnus removed the large fuel filler door, smoothing it over." ...let me get this straight. You louvre the fenders and add a finned gas cap to "refine the lines?" |
Porsche pickup sticks. It'll be at one of the big auction houses. That's why it's in stance works. Building value and frenzy for those fans. It's cars like this that when sold allow the purchase of early turbos or 991 Rs cars.
|
I like some elements too. Nothing wrong with trying new ideas..
The Zagato roof line i've thought about many times on other models but not the 911. The body work and paint are great but design wise it seems to try too hard imho. Signing the wheel kinda cheesy too unless a famous hot shoe. |
Oh hell, I was scared to click the link, but I think it's pretty tasteful for a show car. A lot of care went into that, rather than the just "stick whatever on we can" that plagues so many cars.
|
Just like the others
Lets make a classic porsche look like a 50's custom! Face it people, it can't be improved. Just massacred! To each their own I guess. |
......everything is wrong. R tailights and swb rear view mirror, but barely modified 964 bumper? Tail is awkward to say the least. Vents are well....absurd. Seats belong in a clapped out supra. I like his early cars, even if nothing much orginal - execution seems great. Love his facility. This car is a swing and a miss
|
Looks like a 911 designed by committee. 20 design elements thrown together, none of which work harmoniously. Every time your eye hits something you like, something else comes into focus like a right hook.
Looks like he's following Singer using a marketing strategy instead of an overall design philosophy. |
