Anyone For Spotted Dick

With our small family we are having 26+ friends over for Thanksgiving and a girl friend is bringing Spotted Dick for dessert.

26 phew. It sounds like fun.

Thanks for the recipe. I didn't want to google it in case it came up with something about Charlie Sheen.

Isn't SD similar to panettone? Maybe a cross between panettone and fruit cake?

I'll be pigging out on all kinds of dishes later today (large extended family 4-5 dozen)....there will be NO dicks (spotted or otherwise) nor fruit cake on my plate however ....not that there's anything wrong with that....

Nope. It is a steamed pudding, so has a much heavier consistency. It is also served warm with custard or cream. Once you get past the name (which incidentally has its roots in "spotted dog") it is actually quite nice...

You say "A girl Friend" as if several are invited? Came I stop by and meet a few?

Tell Charlie hello from all of us here and that it was all cool until the video surfaced. Also, don't turn your back to him.
