Belts for your pants

Due to getting older, I no longer have much of a butt (that's a visual you don't need).. My belts are always one notch too loose or one notch too tight. The wifey just bought me a belt from Missionbelts.com, through Amazon. Its a cool ratchet belt with about 32 microadjustments and a release lever, it also has a locking cinch which you can undo to cut off part of the belt length to get a better tail length.

No relationship, but a cool belt nevertheless.

Hugh, you have no butt cuz you work that ass off. I feel naked without a belt, must have on plus it keeps the pants from falling off.

One thing I like about PP is the quality of tips. I'd seen Duluth Trading Company on TV ads, but never gave it any thought until I saw a thread here. Their underwear is $ but I've bought a few and they're worth it.

I have a belt that doesn't have any holes, it's just a sort of weave and you can put the prong through anywhere.

Anson Belts

Also, try suspenders. Dad has no acetall syndrome also, so I know whereof I speak.

Should pm flatbutt for some advice. Sounds familiar with the issue.

Wilderness belt, which is great for CCW. The heaviest handgun won't make it sag or print.

Mission Belts was a Shark Tank entry. Works similar to a zip tie, but "reversible"

Hugh - glad you got a new nice belt! Where are the pictures / links? You need to get an exercise regiment going. You are losing muscle mass with age - it is normal and starts pretty early, actually - but can be delayed significantly if you work out. A few squats will do wonders here, or even riding a bike!

I've made belts in the past for travel - all plastic so they don't set off metal detectors. I've gotten to like them so much I wear all the time. Go to REI or your favorite outdoor store- get some 3/4" nylon web and a quick release buckle. Stitch it up and you've got an infinitely adjustable belt for less than $10.

Since I operate operationally on operations, I wear an Operator Belt from 5.11.

I used to take a hole punch and make the holes where I wanted.

Lately however, I have given in to the man and the predestined holes seem to work pretty well. Maybe I gained or lost a 1/2 size. Who knows?

I tend to wear through leather department store belts very fast. The wear at the holes and where the belt makes an S-bend to go through the buckle. After wearing just a couple times they are no longer pristine, and pretty much worn out after a month or two if worn daily.

Do these have any stress points to even wear out?

I've been wearing the same brown leather belt from the Gap for damn near 20 years now. I wear it everyday. I can't wear pants or shorts without a belt. As I get bigger (and sometimes skinnier) I just get out the ole' leather punch and put new holes where I need them.

Hugh R 01-15-2016 08:22 AM

It has a plastic notched insert on the underside of the belt that the ratchet latches onto.

Tobra 01-15-2016 09:55 AM

That is the same setup the Anson belt has. I am telling you, with no ass, you will be hitching up your pants with a belt. Suspenders are the answer my friend, though I don't know if your boss will want you squiring her around with them, so maybe run it by her first.

I usually buy my belts at the swap meet (it is just a strip of leather with a buckle after all) but I may just give these a try.

I need to wear a belt at work to hold my keys, radio, multi-tool
