Back in the late 70's when I was single and had money, I bought a McIntosh 1900 receiver and a Thorens TD 155 turntable. I still have them. Recently I replaced the cartridge and belt: played some vinyl.

Vinyl sounds soooooooooooooo much better! I have a few direct to disk albums from Sheffield Labs - just stellar.
For those of you who never had the listening experience, listen to the Aja album by Steely Dan on vinyl -- you will hear the difference.
