I always thought Stuart Sutcliffe was #5

Stuart Sutcliffe has been called the fifth Beatle.[5] The original bassist of the five-member Beatles, he played with the band primarily during their days as a club act in Hamburg, Germany. When the band returned to Liverpool in 1961, Sutcliffe remained behind in Hamburg. He died of a brain haemorrhage shortly thereafter. Instead of replacing him with a new member, McCartney changed from rhythm guitar (with Lennon) to bass and the band continued as a four-piece.

Sutcliffe was an accomplished painter, but when compared to the other Beatles, his musical skills were described as "inadequate",[6] and his involvement in the band was mainly a consequence of his friendship with Lennon. Sutcliffe's input was an important early influence on the development of the band's image; Sutcliffe was the first to wear what later became famous as the Beatles' moptop hairstyle, asking his girlfriend Astrid Kirchherr to cut his hair in emulation of the hairdo worn by friend Klaus Voormann

George Best, Irish footballer that played for Manchester United. Pele himself called him "the best footballer who ever lived". Someone is releasing a movie about him this year.

Georgie had one of my all-time favorite quotes - "I spent most of my money on birds, booze, and gambling. The rest of it I just wasted".

Thanks hardflex......well said.

Hardly a time for joking around.

I don't get the disrespect.

Arguably the world's best music producer of the world's best band has passed away.

:(

Agreed harflex and Baz.

Sadly most modern musicians don't have a clue who pioneered all the stuff they enjoy. Back then, to create what the Beatles did was creative genius doing a work of art as opposed to pushing a button on an effects box.

Heck, singers can be tone deaf: either lip sync or autotune.

'He Didn't Rule With an Iron Hand': Producer George Martin Remembered by America Singer Dewey Bunnell

After the The Beatles called it quits in 1970, producer George Martin found himself associated with another band -- America, whose members met as Air Force personnel stationed in London and scored a hit with their first single and debut album, both called A Horse With No Name, in 1971. Martin came on board for 1974's Holiday and stuck around for three more albums -- 1975's Hearts, the following year`s Hideaway and Harbor in 1977. The first two hit top 5 peaks on the Billboard 200, while the latter two went top 20. Martin`s hits with the band included "Tin Man," "Lonely People," "Sister Golden Hair" and "Daisy Jane." During an interview last year the group's Dewey Bunnell, the singer recalled the experience of working with the iconic producer.
