The best presentation I have ever attended was one with Minecraft. The presenter went through a University's problem of when buildings were full, where people could check for courses around the campus and other challenges. He modeled the whole University in Minecraft showing ways to record how people came and went, and how you could setup screens around the campus to check realtime availability.
I thought it was a brilliant presentation on using simulations, Azure Hadoop and technologies to solve their problems. Sooo much better than a dry PPT. |

You would not embrace a teaching aid that might create an engaging learning environment and alleviate some of that stress? |

Teaching programming concepts? You betcha! Have something to hold interest and spark that 'what else can i do' as opposed to "Hello World" and outputting math and other boring stuff... |
Ahaahha, I’m 27 years old and I play minecraft with my son and this is a pretty interesting game and it develops logic well, so you can worry. In addition, there are no bloody scenes and you can play it from the age of three. As for the servers, if you understand this, then you can easily create your own server and it will be completely free. If you have problems, you can easily buy a server for 50-60 dollars at https://ggservers.com. I did just that and did not regret it. So if you want to spend time with your son, then this is a great option!

Minecraft looks much like a 4bit digital Legos environment...without the stepping hazards. Basic fun. People of all ages probably could use more of this 3-D spacial exercise. |
If I could do it all over again, I would throw the system out. Some kids handle it better than others. Your the parent, do what ever you want.
