Boating season
I should have snapped a pic, but I put the battery back in my ski boat and cranked it for about a min, and guess what? It caught, fired and ran like a top! I'm sure what now to do with money I budgeted for annual boat repairs?
(it's a Correct Craft with a Chevy 350) Not mine, but same exact boat. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1463876636.jpg Anyone else prepping for Memorial Day Weekend? |

Just put this on the water today for the first time. 28ft Bennington with a 300HP Merc Verado hanging off the back. Water temp was 72F, tubes and skis were out.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1463878469.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1463878495.jpg Still in break in phase, but hit 42mph trimmed 1 click. Can only run wide open 1 minute every 10 mins for the first two hours. Thinking might get close to 50mph when settled in. Not bad for a tritoon. |
Winter just won't go away around here, we've barely had any 80s. Water temps are low 60s at the moment, and the heat isn't coming any time soon. I'm doing the impeller, new carpet, and adding a sub to the stereo system in my 23' Monterrey next weekend, c'mon summer!

Just (as in last week) sold our bought new '97 Tige with 220 orig hrs :( Tons of family memories, but sadly didn't get more than 10 hrs on it in the last 2 years. That's what happens when kids grow up and out. No better summer family memories than boats and water life. Moved to a small hp restricted lake community so bought a used Bennington pontoon. Now making new, different memories with my beautiful wife (of 3 decades!)

I've had several boats over the years the current one is a used 17 ' Hydra Sports center console I bought 2 years ago. I like the fiberglass floor/inside it's very easy to keep clean. I have a fresh rebuild on the Yamaha 90 two cycle triple that only has .5 hours on it ! Just installed a bimini top and had the upholstery redone. Installed all new gauges including a compass, hour meter and VHF radio. All I have left to do is install the 12 volt trolling motor and 2nd battery and she's good to go. Looking forward to getting her in the water over the holiday if the weather plays nice :D

I don't have many action shots, but here's mine when I bought it.

/QUOTE] I wouldn't tempt fate by saying that......rest assured, that boat will find a way to spend your budget, and more. |

That boat with all the tumblehome in the rear must be from the 50s/ early 60s. Is it an aluminum hull? Cheers Richard |

This was my only boat, a 14' Valco on my way to Costa Rica. I think this picture was in Nicaragua close to the lake, just north of Costa Rica.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1463963693.jpg and this one was in Guatemala. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1463963751.jpg But, next Saturday I am leaving for Sitka to spend a week on my friends 64' Elliot. He shipped it up to Vancouver Island then flew up to get it and for the last few weeks has been having a great time. He has posted some fabulous pictures of Salmon. I hope to do the same. |

Holiday weekends were too wild for us, like you said, too many drunk idiots. |
After this terrible spring, we finally were out on the water this past weekend. Tooled around on the waverunner, and got in our first couple slalom and wakesurfing sets.
