We ditched Hulu for Jetflicks on the Roku. Same principle as cable, why would you pay to watch commercials. Hulu sucks balls.

What device do you need to run Kodi?

Planning on cutting the "cable" in the next couple of days. The only reason I kept it was for sports, news, Velocity TV (mostly junk), and AXS TV (good live music sometimes). I am done with AT&T @$270 per month TV/Internet/Phone. Highway robbery IMO.

What do you guys do if you want to record a sporting event?

So the short list is:
Antenna
Roku for my other TV (Roku 3 is on home theater projector and use it for Netflix)
Jetflicks
Kodi with TV Addons and Exodus
Sling TV

Is that it to cover all the bases?

OK, did some research on Kodi. I am confused as to how it works. Can someone explain how it connects to your system?

Sports are the only sticking point in my experience. I like baseball and subscribed to MLB.tv, I still can't see my local teams live but they are available an hour after the game completes. I think the NBA and NFL have streaming packages that are more friendly than the baseball.

It is fed from the internet. Same info you can get on your computer but it's packaged into a stand alone box.

How it physically connects is thru a HDMI cable from the box to your TV. So it's internet (wifi or cable) to the box. Then HDMI cable to the TV. You set your TV to the appropriate source and tell the box (either thru the remote or a mouse) what you want to watch.

Yes you are still paying for the internet but there are no other charges.

Wat? Not sure what you're saying. Yeah, you still send a monthly check to some company. But its a fraction of the cost of a internet/TV package.

Last year I watched on this: FIA WEC LIVE

or variation thereof, to get the feed for $5-10 ? don't recall..

Look for fiawec.com and navigate till you can join the club...

Follow the race | FIA WEC LIVE

you'll figure it out... Worked great last year. This year I have fox sports GO.
