Indy 500 2016
Pick a winner:
Going way out on a limb and I'll say Marco Andretti. ![]() And lets not start a ***** session about how it's not what it used to be. ![]() It's still the Indy 500.

Have always been a Castroneves fan since his Indy Lights days when he won here in Long Beach. Back when his last name was still hyphenated.

I've been trying to watch it on and off all afternoon so far, and just can't get excited about it. I guess i'm not an open wheel fan........Castroneves for the win.

Wow. What a Cinderella finish! F1 fans will be proud. In the old Agajanian number, no less.

I quite watching because of ABC overselling ads...made it too difficult to follow, so screw 'em...watched a pool tournament on live stream instead.

This was a great race. Yes, the commercials ruined it for those of us that couldn't be there live. But how fitting that the first race to be won by a rookie is the 100th. An American driver to boot too, racing in a car with the iconic #98 on the side of it and owned by one of the fabled family names in Indy history. Even the sponsor is fitting IMO. NAPA. As someone who has followed/watched the Indy 500 from the time AJ won his first in '61, I couldn't have picked a better way for this race to finish.

Glad you enjoyed it...and I hope ABC made good money on the advertising revenue...but...well, guess I'm done with the Indy 500. Cindy said they didn't cut to ads on the last lap..I'm amazed they didn't.

I had to record the race cause didn't get home from church until after 1 pm. Turned out to be the best thing. DVR makes quick work of the commercials.
Great race. I was hoping to see Helio take #4 or TK take #2 but an exciting finish. I was surprised at what a jerk Townsend Bell was. He made a lot of enemies the way he chopped people today.

Great finish with the kicker he ran out of gas on the victory lap.

I read that he ran out of gas on the last turn before the checkered. Rossi is a good driver and a good guy. Happy to see him win. He was solid in his short time in F1. Don't know if this win will help get him a ride in F1 but I hope so.
