$89 hoodie?

Has anybody purchased one of these? That's a lot of money for a hoodie.

This hoodie is so insanely popular you have to wait months to get it - Business Insider

You'd think if it was that popular, they could have fixed the production problem by now. Besides its summer...who needs that now.

widgeon13 06-03-2016 06:54 AM

I heard they are bullet proof!

scottmandue 06-03-2016 08:00 AM

Matches your $50 T-shirt

Did I need green font for that?

Eric 951 06-03-2016 08:01 AM

Does each one come with $80.00 in the pocket?

Oracle 06-03-2016 08:28 AM

Nah.. that's nothing...
The real deal is the one from Kanye West:
Kanye West Pablo Hoody Los Angeles Pop Up Shop Merch Yeezus XL | eBay

I'm sure KW put as much effort in designing his sweatshirt..

....Or just another of his famous designs:
The "Original Donda Crewneck Sweatshirt": https://shop.kanyewest.com/ Only $140!!

Probably all designs were approved by the missus K.

GH85Carrera 06-03-2016 08:31 AM

Does it come with a matching pair of oversized pants that hang around your knees?

I thought it was only so popular because they spent lots of time getting the "this hoodie is so popular that you can't even buy it" spamming ads placed on nearly EVERY WEBSITE IN EXISTENCE!

They used subliminal advertising to create their own self-made trend.

I suspect diarrhea will eventually become a fashion accessory..

Obviously most posters here dress from Costco, and then cry Chinese products being inferior, but easily trip over a $89.00 hoodie.

I picture sandals, white socks and 2 dollar tees :D

I think if I lived in the city, and was fashion conscious, I would worry about buying expensive clothes like TABS wears, because EVIDENTLY, clothes make the man !

I live on a farm, have chickens, and horses (and all the related poop, feed, hay, etc) along with cutting/splitting/stacking/burning 6 cords of firewood a year. I work on cars, and equipment as needed, do extensive yard work on a 10 acre farm, and my daughter's 1 acre lot. There is no way in the world, I want a $90 hoodie that will be covered in grease, dirt, sawdust, and other substances within a week. I tend to buy alot of cheap clothes that I wear out/rip/stain, inside of a year.

Ha, I must admit I get some clothes from costco.

I had the opposite reaction though. Give them credit for making a solid product here. Seems spendy to me but I'm poor, shop at costco, and generally have no fashion sense. I bet its 4x better then the $20 walmart version.

impactbumper 06-03-2016 10:24 AM

You know at one point it is self respect too. We are not discussing $10,000.00 sneakers here. $89.00 for a domestic made good quality hoodie is not expensive.

In the summer I wear Land's End shorts, and a T-shirt with some place I visited or activity I participated it on the shirt. The t-shirts range from free to nice but never in my life have I or will I pay $90 for a t-shirt or a sweat shirt. In the winter I wear jeans but they are just Levi's and I wear my own holes in them with honest wear.

And yes, I am talking about my work clothes. We all are very casual.

I'm trying to figure out why an $89 hoodie is a big deal. That's not expensive in the grand scheme of things in any way.

Here - Men's Sweatshirts | RalphLauren.com

Most of the stuff starts at around $98 and goes up to $298, although they do have some as cheap as $79, 49 and I think I even saw a $39 in there.

Exactly.....I don't think $89 is way overpriced for an obviously well made, (in America) clothing that is comfortable, and somewhat stylish, it's just, I don't want to spend that much on something that will be messed up quickly, and I don't buy hoodies to go out to dinner, or out with friends.

I don't own a hoodie... or a sweatshirt...
Just my personal preference but if it is cold I will wear a jacket or fleece.

The only reason I could see for a hoodie is for exerciser/working out... and I don't see why you need an expensive designer hoodie to get all sweaty when You can get one for half the price at a sporting goods store.

And then there are the guys who drive with a hoodie... yeah, that makes sense.

MAN stop calling it expensive. :D

Dressing up is preference. I do not see myself wearing fleece. I wear sweatshirts and hoodies all the time. When it is hot, tees.

masraum 06-03-2016 12:57 PM

I think the deal is that some folks view a hoodie as being like a sweatshirt or like jacket, but these days, a hoodie is more often than not an article to complete a ensemble. I'm not a big hoodie wearer myself, I pretty much only wear it if it's cool outside.

You could almost think of a hoodie as being like a versatile blazer for millennials.

You can wear it with jeans an a t-shirt or with a button up and a tie. (not that I do or would)

Or, wretch, under a blazer. :D
