Whats on the other end? looks like a typical power cable that can bought anywhere?
|
Yeah, looks like the plug end of a wall transformer or power supply?
Seeing as radio shack is now a glorified cell phone store hard to find small electrical parts, not impossible but difficult. May be a lot easier to just to find a new power supply if you can match the voltage and current. |
You gonna crimp it or solder it?
|
12 v power supply, looking for female end, need a retailer or online supplier. All the radio shacks are kaput.

Willey's Electronics in National City CA. They have a web site and contact info but I am not sure if you can send them a picture to get what you need? There should be electronic supply centers close to Long Beach or near LAX where electronic repairs have to be done.

Are you not familiar with fry's?
That's where elon musk gets tesla parts. |
Try DigiKey, Mouser, or Newark. Mouser may be the best of the three, followed by DigiKey.

Amazon (my goto lately*) has them also. Search 'Barrel Connector' measured in metric if you have a set of calipers, ID & OD needed. Power is often 5.5mm by 2.5 or 2.1mm.

OK, Fry's had the connectors but I have to make a cable to connect to a USB. See the pic, two poles on the connector and four wires on the USB......so how to hook it up?

I think you need 5v, not 12.
Anyway, red is positive, black is ground. Green and white are data. SmileWavy |
Try the website PINOUTS.RU as that one has the wire/color/pins for every computer and other connectors ever made. I use it in one of my computer networking hardware classes and it is very handy.

If that's how you spell electrical it's probably best you don't touch it. Annoying jokes aside... Op shops/junk shops/second hand shops are full of those things. The recycler at the dump here has lots of them. I think Wayne made a post a while back about a cheap way to replace laptop and phone chargers with recycled ones. |
I drink Bill, bite me....

So do I. That's why my jokes are either annoying or not even the slightest bit funny.
|
I gotta a chuckle or it was maybe a fart....dunno, since I just tossed my cookies....
|
LOL.
You guys are five hours ahead of me. Probably too early in the day for me to start using my "Been on the pinot's" excuse for bad behaviour. |
