Book Disposal Suggestions Needed

We've run out of warehouse space and need to move some of the books we published that have been selling slow. These are niche subject books and we've saturated the market. We've tried to donate them to the usual places but we've exhausted their capacity. Our next step is recycling them, but I hate to do it.
Does anyone have any experience disposing of large numbers of books? In most cases we have over 1000 copies of the titles. (I will send copies free to Pelicans, just pay the cost of Library Rate shipping - $2 - $3 PM me if you want one)

Journal of the American Revolution
History of the B.F. Avery Company
Divco - History of the Trucks and the Company
Best of International Harvester
History of Nash Trucks
Bridge to the Riviera (history of New Jersey's Riviera night club)

You can see the covers at: READ/BOOKS — Ertel Gift Shop

List on ebay, etc. for $1 plus $5 shipping.

Or pay shipping out of your pocket and send one to every library you can find an address for.

With that number of books, you could turn it into recycled paper insulation?

Best advice given. Business loss and spreading the word.
Plus add charities(Kiwanis, Salvation Army, non-profit farming or historical orgs, etc).
Or use alternative storage for now.

Those look like decent titles.

How about Half Price Books. They seem to me to sell this sort of thing.

About 10 years ago some buddies of mine self-published a book. IIRC, they had to print something like 15k of them. (Publishing on demand did not exist yet.) They sold something like 8 on Amazon, and a couple hundred at trade shows. Two years after publishing, the manufacturer of the item the book concerned obsoleted the product. This effectively instantly killed demand for their book, and they had 14.5k+ left.

It was a running joke for years. They made a table out something like 2,000 of the books. They used another few hundred into an aquarium stand. We had bonfires where we burned their books....for almost 10 years. They did end up recycling the bulk of them eventually.

Woah, I would be interested in a copy as I run websites about old machinery, but I am located in Europe.

Self-published a book. Got a great deal and was able to print 100K for less than could find to print 10K. Sold 8K (really great sales btw), kept 1K, sent the rest to recycling. Luckily was able to store the bulk for free 10 years before being forced to do something with them.

About 3 years after publishing had someone contest my copyright because they thought their book was better. The Library of Congress refused their book. Had to explain copyrights are not based on whether you thought yours was better or not, it was based on being first.
