I keep checking CL and eBay for 145's but they are like hen's teeth but there are a few 245's that routinely appear.

Thought some of you fellow Volvo wagon lovers would appreciate this offering.

To start with.....factory power sunroof and 4 speed manual (with OD) transmission!

I can't see the listing (ebay blocked), but I didn't realize you could ever get a sunroof on a wagon.

Hey Otter....hopefully you get to read the auction details later. It says something about the original owner ordered this car with EVERY option available.

I didn't know about the sunroof being an available option either. I guess when Volvo moved up from the 140 to the 240 series they really stepped up their game a bit. Although I've always really appreciated how advanced the 140 series cars were engineering wise.

And that is a working power sunroof, BTW...!

I just took another peek at the auction pics and that's not just a sunroof...it's a see through sunroof that opens up but it also has a piece that covers it you can slide open and shut from the inside. NICE!

had the same car minus the sunroof & 8track
was a stick turbo and I added an intercooler and mp3 disk player

he may get 8k for that car
240's are on a up tick in price for nice cars
esp turbo sticks in a 2 door or wagon
and 100k miles is very low
currently have two 93 245's

Yeah, I'd drop 8K in a heartbeat - if I had the proper room for this beautiful example. It deserves to be inside a garage. I couldn't do that right now.

This is the type of car you would be proud to be seen with - unlike most of the crap you see on the roads today....

I checked out the listing at home last night - it's a very nice-looking 245. I have never seen (in person or photos) a wagon with a sunroof before (I have been casually shopping for a replacement for my toaster, and Volvo wagons are one thing I like, but I am a big sunroof fan). Upholstery looks kind of odd, though.

I think that when it comes down to it I prefer 7-series wagons, though.

The listing description reads "unaltered" so that must be the original upholstery as well as paint. That baby has been garage kept for sure.

One other thing I really like too is the "factory SC" fog lights!

I friend had one in the mid 90's, great to take camping but blah to drive. Of course, now I want one.

Ever replace the hatch wiring harness in one?

In this configuration, they are common. Quite a different animal from the one in the OP. All of them are great cars, about as boring as it gets w/o the turbo but indestructible, extremely safe and durable. A tough Swedish product. With the turbo and Magnus trans, it would even be slightly fun to drive. Slightly.

I've owned several and worked at the dealer both in high school and then later, in the early '90s selling them. The guy who owned the Volvo dealer in my neighborhood in Minneapolis, (affluent part of town), was seriously wealthy. He was probably a sharp businessman to start with but a Volvo dealer in Mpls. is like printing money.

It's funny because I've had two friends in recent weeks ask me about 240 wagons for friends who need a cheap car.
