Looping the SE5a
A perfect fall day to go flying so my Dad and I went out and looped the SE5a, he is 86 and its been 60 years since he looped a plane, this was the first loop for me since I build the plane: No problems:

WOOHOO! Ballsy for you, your Dad, and the plane.
I was surprised that you didn't dive a little for a boost in airspeed. Did you tighten the straps on your parachutes first? 😀 Cheers Richard |
No room for a chute, did dive a bit to get to 110,
|
Well done and thanks for the great video!:)
|
I have not looped my plane yet. Too chicken****.
Good on ya, Craig.... You make it look easy. |
No chute pulling a loop? Is it uncomfortable to sit in that tight cockpit with those great big balls?
|
Hoo lee sh t!!! That's fantastic. SmileWavy

No room for a chute, I tried one when I test flew it back in 89 and really nothing is going to happen to the air frame Im only pulling 3g's maybe 4 next is to work on my barrel rolls or split S's
|
Is that gun loaded? Loop and shoot would be cool :).
|
No problems: Well if there had been a problem you would have not posted the video.
Very Cool |
Awesome experience!
|
I'll bet your dad was thrilled, and you two will be talking about that loop forever.
Cool video too. Cheers Richard |
Awesome, I saw the pre-loop shallow dive to pick up speed.
The loop was quite a bit tighter than I imaged it would be. Now try a 3G wing-over.:D |
