Has the OP gotten butt-hurt and split the scene?

freeform911 12-08-2016 06:42 PM

absolutely not...curious to why personalized plates aren't accepted...because it a classic 911? the whole point was to make fun of the money I spend/spent for track use..

Well, the trend in CA, which is LONG way from SC, distance, laws and attitude is vintage plates. CA has had Black and Yellow, Blue and Yellow and in the 50s, Yellow and Black. Restrictions apply.

Some states have special random numbered vintage vehicle plates. Any Tom, Dick or Larry can get a vanity plate. There are restrictions on the above. You have to be special to qualify.

YMMV

Personalized plates are fine... don't let these weenies give you a hard time. Just a lil old Pelican welcome to your newbiness :)

I had WOOHOO on my old '84 Carrera Cab for years.

freeform911 12-08-2016 07:06 PM

No worries...and i've been around here for about 5 years...is that considered a newb?

Joe Bob 12-08-2016 07:11 PM

post count.....

freeform911 12-08-2016 07:28 PM

Well....guess I have some work to do to catch up to you...33k? Don't see how it's possible!!!!

2porscheguy 12-08-2016 07:29 PM

I'm guilty of the vanity plate thing too...

My '80 SC has..."SEE YAH"
My 997TT...."BCN YAH"

But ......they're stayin"!! :p

Think of it like masturbation.

Sure. The trouble with it is that a personalized plate referencing investment into a P-car will likely be seen as a self-congratulatory trifecta of flaunting money. There likely aren't enough characters on a plate to reliably accomplish your goal but just enough to get you attention that may not be wanted. YMMV.

pavulon...point takin...not to be a smart a$$...but honestly if I cared about what everyone thought about me or my cars I would probably never leave my house...i'm sure just like you and the other pelican members, I work pretty hard to have the things I want so......screw what everybody else thinks...just sayin
btw working on my post count....don't wanna be a newb...

berettafan 12-09-2016 10:56 AM

I have to admit I think I might've had 'onramp' as a plate at one time.

freeform911 12-09-2016 11:19 AM

You did run approval through the PCA forum?!! Lol...pretty funny how many of us do or have had VANITY plates....

KFC911 12-09-2016 11:32 AM

I've had

'88 IXXI

for years....I'm so vane that I don't give a carp what anyone else thinks :)
