Pretty Crazy how fast fuel evaporates !

I had to pump the tank empty on an older BMW last Thrusday. They stored it outdoors for a year with a rag instead of a gas cap.
It came in no start, only had 25 psi of fuel pressure, and the fuel was black, watery and full of sediment.
Anyhow, I pumped it out into 2 5 gallon buckets on Thursday morning . I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and gas cap. The car runs perfect again,
I was busy, forgot, and left the two open buckets of old fuel sit outside the building over the weekend .
I went to empty them this morning, and there was only about 2 inches of fuel left in each bucket . Cool little rings around the inside of each container, where you could tell approx how much fuel evaporated each day .
Greta is not happy with me right now .
