Medium Trucks ?
Only took a few years, and I'm out growing 1 ton trucks. I want to purchase a ( project of course ) roll back, pref. , or wrecker for the shop , and my side hobbies .
A one ton would be easy, but I would like to be able to move heavier equipment, and trucks etc. . I'm looking at late 80's, early 90's International 4700, Topkicks, 60 series gm trucks, and ford f 600/700. Any thing else I should be looking at ? any sweet spots. I prefer diesel, but would consider gas, as most of my use will be short distance . Most of the int trucks have a 7.3. simple and easy . I wanna stay away from any modern diesels My friend has colon cancer and wants to darn near give him his 78 C60 with a sweet alum 21' roll back. Problem is , this is a dinosaur and has been sitting for about 8 years . Would take a ton of work to get it going again . Brake drums are nla as far as I can tell, and it has split rims. But , gas 350 chevy, and he just rebuilt the cab, and painted it , before he took it off the road. Actually looks pretty good still

Buy it for the bed. You'll have more options for buying the cab and chassis your really want to put it on. Otherwise you're looking for the right cab/chassis AND the right bed in one package.

Sounds like the cab and stuff are worth it if you can drop a different axle and upgraded powertrain. If you know a guy that can do that stuff.
