RIP Hemmings Sports & Exotic Cars magazine

It's one of the very few car mags that I still had a subscription to and still (generally) read cover to cover each month.

I loved the variety of older Euro cars they featured, and the writers for the most part were enthusiasts who wrenched on their own cars.

The last issue came with a letter saying it would be, after 12 years, the last. Too much competition from the Internet, etc. Another good one bites the dust.

I just saw that too, really good magazine. Always a nice mix of cars/people/events/tech, I read every issue.

I was a charter subscriber and really enjoyed the magazine. However, like all but one subscription to a weekly magazine, I cancelled all print deliverables a few years ago.

The part of the magazine where they tallied-up the condition of the editors cars was great.

Too bad.

I loved that section as well. Although the one editor, female with the old Volvo, sure was taking her time getting that thing running.

I was very surprised to get that letter this week. I called yesterday to see how many issues I had remaining, far too many to convert to the other American car magazine in my estimation. The lady on the phone said that many people shared my sentiment and were cancelling/asking for refund.

It was a great read. RIP

Another disappointed fanatic here......I do books on my tablet all the time, but can't seem to like digital magazines........

So many great photos in the magazine, they dont seem to convey on a tablet.

I was pictured in the magazine in 2015.
Brought my whole collection there.
Rented a car carrier

I am really gonna miss that magazine. I loved the way many of the cars they spotlighted were in less than pristine condition. An interesting car (and owner) are worthy of a showcase regardless of condition and they had so many.

I called them today to see if the rest of my subscription could be with the Muscle Machines mag rather than the Classic Cars mag they mentioned in the letter, and they set me up with that with a "certainly, sir."

Funny too, I read it completely each month. I can't say that for other mags.

It was one of the last two car magazine subscriptions that I intended to keep renewing. I too read it cover to cover each month. Sad to see it go.

One of my favorite magazines, one of the few I subscribe to anymore. One of the other ones - "Bimmer" magazine, sent me their last issue a couple months ago with a similar letter: "Sorry, this will be our last issue...".

I subscribed for a while but culled it due to having too many magazines... Too bad.

We are looking into buying it, so don't despair. Talks are very preliminary.

Would that one be Hustler?

Several years ago, PC World sent digital and transferred me over. I never did view my remaining copies....Just not the same....
