Strange Disappearances in National Parks

Have you heard about them... and about the fact that the Parks Service is unwilling to release stats on it? Are they worried their numbers will drop?

Listen to the case of a missing 14 year old girl here (starts at 7:22) and how the investigator (and the family) gets shut down by a special agent for the Park Service (Yosemite) when he asks for a copy of the case...

More here if you're interested: https://www.outsideonline.com/2164446/leave-no-trace

According to conspiracy theorist's...Extraterrestrials have a deal with the government to abduct people if they provide a list of names in exchange for technology. The list allows our government cover up and only seriously only look for the missing not on the abductee list.

There is also a theory that there a extraterrestrial lizard people that live underground. They use telepathic mind control to take people without leaving any evidence. They think younger humans are especially tasty.

The underground lizard people theory sound like a viable possibility .
I put a radiator in my friends bmw wagon yesterday, and he was going on and on about this .

Just read that entire article, quite interesting. Much as I love conspiracies and Coast to Coast AM, it's so much more likely that people unfamiliar with the terrain and conditions get lost, have medical episodes, become injured and succumb to their condition. Animals and wildlife will make quick work of a corpse. Definitely makes me less eager to go Nat'l Parking though.

I've spent sometime camping over the years and nothing would surprised me.
There are some real weirdos out there.

Older movie but relevant. It demonstrates how things can go wrong very quickly & what people do when they have no idea.

Precisely.

Way more logical than extraterrestrials coming trillions of miles to live underground and eat children. Or Bigfoot or Unicorns.

There is not one scintilla of evidence of any form of extraterrestrials. Same for Bigfoot. Nothing but footprints and the fakers have even admitted to starting those.

I live in the Adirondack Park of upstate NY, have flown over the park as a private pilot for many years. It's 6 million acres, mostly wooded and I was always very aware of my landing options when over most of the terrain. It's very rugged and most unforgiving. If you go down in some areas, you may as well be in Alaska. I have been on search and rescue missions in the woods looking for hunters and hikers and in some places you can't see a person 3 feet away from you. I know that's hard to believe but it's the truth.

People come up here from NJ and NYC thinking "it's walk in the park", dead wrong and it costs them their lives and most times they are within a few miles of civilization but they get disoriented and go in circles or get hurt and can't walk or just sit down and give up, which in some cases might be the best thing to do.

It's unforgiving terrain, easy to get lost if unprepared and happens all too frequently. Throw in a few cold spring or fall nights w/o cover and black flys in May and you might wish you were dead.

There are a good number of stories up here where people disappear and are never found and there isn't any Bigfoot up here. It's not a "walk in the park"!

I guess if I were a serial killer the best hunting ground I could find would be a large very lightly policed park with lots of hiding places visited by people who aren't expected back home for some time.

I always marvel at how tough the pioneers were. At some point some trapper or hunter went walking deep into those very woods. Of course many had hostile Indians not fond of an illegal alien hunting and trapping their game animals.

I think of the early surveyors that left out of camp with all the supplies they needed and with the surveying equipment, and drug a rod and chain every 33 feet. They were gone for weeks and months at a time.

I backpacked the High Peaks for many years. Every year I'd see new postings at the Ranger stations about people who were missing, especially in winter. You are spot on that people just don't realize how easily they can get dead out there. I can't count how many times I've seen people wearing blue jeans in the dead of winter at the Marcy Dam day use area.
