Younger generation...I still have hope

I have a young relative who's about to finish med school (top notch school btw - full scholorship), and his young wife went to seminary school. My mom told me today that he may not become doctor after all....he's not weighed down with debt, money does not motivate him, and he's leaning towards doing something else with his talents. Maybe Pete was correct years ago...but you'll never see his type in the media these days....

The Kids Are Alright!

Some of them anyways....:)

Slap him around a bit - bring him to his senses. Ask him does he not watch botched.

Hey we need doctors.

I don't think so Bill...he's about 6'4" with a black belt :).

He'll put his education to use however...might become a missionary or something.

OK... Maybe not such a good idea.

You said he's not terribly into money. But he should still talk to one of those evil drug companies. They pay doctors (med school grad's) crazy money to work for them.

I teach high school students in Ontario. Rest assured that the vast majority of kids are more than alright. They will change the world, just like every other generation has. The future is bright indeed.

Yeah , he did not rack up any debt himself , but somebody payed good money to get him that MD degree.
That's money that could have gone to somebody else, who perhaps would have made a great doctor could have saved a lot of lives but didn't, because he or she could not get the scholarship. SmileWavy

I'm not sure why anybody would like to read that in the media. Especially not those who did not get a scholarship

Interesting perspective....

Small, private med school....private funds....this area doesn't need more doctors...

I think it's fantastic :)....he and his wife will make the world a better place imo.

Maybe he's smart enough not to be a doctor. Good for him!
