JB engineered body cam.
Might as well use stuff I have. A Gamin dash cam (used in my 911 for the rear), an external USB battery, 32gb memory card and an iPod arm band holder thingy. Going to try it out on my next baseball umpire assignment.

"Strike called and the batter is not liking it, let got to the replay...."

I thought about a helmet mount but then remembered that I take it off after a hit for a clearer view. Hence the arm mount. Also more secure.
Current HS rules prohibit video use for calls on the field. But every Tom, Dick and Harry has a camera and is filming all the time. I think I will save each game simply to cover my ass and review for a learning experience. A coach can review video in the dugout. |
Maybe attach it on your chest or to the side for a better POV to review calls? Like da popo.
|
Seems like you might be able to mount that on/in your chest protector?
|
The pocket of my uniform shirt has a patch above it. The umpire association has a conniption fit when it is covered and or missing. The external battery cord isn't long enough to hang it over the right breast.

Was that John Goodman telling you to shake it off? You need to figure out a mount that is always aiming the camera forward.
|
I was thinking, Don Zimmer, the former fat boy Cubs manager minus the big chaw of tobacco. As for the camera angle/positioning....work in progress.......
