Targas rule..Just not sure of the color!

Why didn't they just match the top to the rest of the car?

Aren't all the old air-cooled Targa bars the same color? I thought that was the look they're going for with the 991 Targa.

i don't like the new targa thing, that movable window is just stupid heavy and over engineered.

Chocaholic 04-04-2017 11:08 AM

Targa colors? You mean there's more than one?

is there a way to find out if one is the first in history to put two words together?

Not that I have this kind of money to drop on a car but I would rather have this one: ;)

??? Please explain.

I think the Targas look fantastic. While I'm not a big fan of the 991, that's the one I would buy if I had to choose one.

I do also. But I think the one pictured would look much better with a gray top...maybe it can be ordered?

Go play with the configuration tool on the Porsche website, it's pretty fun! You can configure each car in thousands of ways when you consider options, colors, and the Porsche Exclusive options like covering your turn signal stalk in leather.:)

I will..thanks!

It's too bad that crazy complicated and heavy top system isn't optional.
And also 2 wheel drive isn't available.
2 wheel drive, with a simple manual top, would be so sweet.

(Oh, and if could be shrunk to 5/6 the size, that would be even better)

They used to all be black. I suspect 99% of the targa tops will be black, but I'm sure there will be a couple of optional colors (same canvas that they use for the cab).

All of the old cars originally came in a brushed finish and then they went to black. I'm pretty sure all of the 991s that I've seen have been the brushed metal finish.

That sure is a lot of moving parts.

No.

All were brushed stainless until the first SC's in the late 70's.

For a couple years you could get stainless or satin black.

Then by '80 they were all satin black.
