Fun Math Questions
A bat and ball cost $1.10.
The bat costs one dollar more then the ball. How much does the ball cost? If you answer, show the proof and post another fun math question.

bat = ball+1 (ball+1)+ball = 1.10 ball+ball=.1 ball = .05, so Bat = 1.05 ****** What is the value of 6 × 4 - 12 ÷ 3 - 8 ?

The bat costs $1.05 and the ball costs $0.05:
1.05 + 0.05 = 1.10 This question was in the 31st October issue of the New Scientist magazine on page 38. There were also two other questions printed with it: If it takes 5 machines 5 minutes to make 5 widgets, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets? In a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. Every day the patch doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover half of it?
