Recommend an electric beard trimmer?

After +20 years of service my Wahl beard trimmer has died (RIP).
Searching for a replacement on the internet is overwhelming (as usual, paralysis by analysis).
Funny thing is I no longer have a beard but need a trimmer to clean up around my ears/eyebrows/etc.
Thus I want something with a fine blade like what the barbers use for trimming around your neck/ears that won't pinch/cut.

Anyone have a trimmer they like and can recommend?

TIA

I have a Remington one I got in Singapore because the one I had with me died, maybe 4 years ago. It has worked just ok, part of the guide has broken.

I am going to guess that it is going to be hard to find something quality like the Wahl, but that is what I would be looking for, maybe something like this:

Whatever you do don't buy it at Walmart. I got a Wahl there and it must be a Walmart model because the battery truly sux.

Like my Norelco because it has a vacuum that catches most of the trimmings.

I like the one with the vacuum but decided it is just one more thing to go wrong (and I always shave over the sink).

Speaking of which there is a plug right next to my sink so why are all these things cordless/battery operated (yet another thing to go wrong).

If my Wahl was cordless it would still be working (I replaced the battery but new battery won't hold a charge)

Went with the Norelco without the vacuum:

I have a Remington shaver/trimmer that worked well enough until the blade got dull and I needed a new one and couldn't find it anywhere - not my local beauty supply shops (they only stock Wahl and similar level) and not even on Amazon. For years now I've used my gf's Wahl trimmer, which works great and when the blade wears out you can get a new one anywhere. It is more or less exactly what my hair gets cut with.

i dont know jack squat about beard trimmers..

but my Oster Classic 76 can buzz my head down like a pro tool..cuz it is. i think you can buy blades of various cutting lengths. this versus the tools that use a guard to control depth.

it is my favorite tool purchase EVER. my barber ordered it for me, after finally feeling bad for stealing my money cutting my barren head.

Yeah, tell me about it... before I got married I got my hair cut twice a year... now it is every two weeks... and with my sparse growth I just tell um "#3 all over".

Frankly this purchase is just for ears and eyebrows (wife doesn't dig the Andy Rooney look).

for sure you should get the Classic 76. get the #3 blade and the #00 for the other stuff. it is a great cutter.

I've had it for 3 years now and it still works 100%, I see there's an updated version.

I trim my full beard once a week in the shower (where this trimmer lives, being splashed everyday). I charge it once a month, so 4 full beard trims per charge is easy.

I like that it's cordless, waterproof and has a high length resolution (0.5mm) which is easily repeatable :D

I trim my beard at 5.5mm.

Go to a Beauty Supply shop and ask for a recommendation. They'll have the uber pro models but their "bottom of the line" stuff will be better than the WalMart junk.

I love my Wahl lithium ion. Good sharp blades and it goes forever on a charge. Maybe charge it once every 6 weeks? I had an issue with mine and they covered it under warranty no trouble.

We should ask Wolf-boy what he uses, but it probably is a self propelled gasoline lawn mower...

Have had this one 6 years now, still works great.
