Cincinnati Concours Pics
Seeing a couple of the recent posts about car shows thought I'd post up a few of my pics from the recent Cincinnati Concours.
Another great show this year with over 250 cars from across the country. The vehicle diversity never ceases to amaze me and I'd highly recommend it for anyone in the area the second Sunday each June. Next year Porsche will be the featured marque :) The P car pics will be first followed by some of my other favorites from the event. 1959 356A Carrera GT Speedster http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499203625.jpg 1967 911 that raced in the Trans Am series http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499203667.jpg 2016 GT3RS with friends http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499203731.jpg Singer 911 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499203776.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499203800.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499203819.jpg 1991 Schumacher F1 from the Indy Museum http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499203924.jpg 1966 King Cobra CSX 3519 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499203980.jpg |

Great photos, thanks but why do they wrap the tires like this?

Wow, some heavy hitters. I think the Muira is hands down the most beautiful car ever.

Great pics, DougE. Happy Independance Day to you and your family! SmileWavy

I'm guessing so that when they wheel the car to the grassy area for judging, they unwrap them and are ready to show without cleaning dirt, grass, etc off the wheels/tires.

Peter - the tires were wrapped for transport. Shortly after that picture was taken they were unwrapped. Car stayed in that spot all day ... it was just there for viewing, no judging.
Jim - thanks ! Same to you and Lou ... hope all is well for both of you. |

Seems simple enough. |
Doug, do you have a shot of that Miura with it all closed up? I'm trying to get a handle on that paint job.
I can't tell if it's one of those iridescent paints that looks different based on the angle you're viewing it, or if it's two different colors ghosted together. It kinda reminds me of some of the wild paintjobs that some of the "Thingie" RTR slot cars came with back in that same time period. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1499238725.jpg |
Doug! Thanks for posting.
Looks like a great time, really impressive cars in attendance. |
Dang it.
We went last year. It looks like the cars this year were far superior to the cars last year... We were in SoCal that weekend but I will calendar it for next summer. DL |
John - sorry, no pics of it closed up but see below for 2 additional shots showing the color better. Not iridescent, more of a lighter orange. The coloring on the pics doesn't do it justice based on the angle of the sun and the camera I was using that day.

Ahhhh, cool... so it's a solid color... thanks.
That first pic you posted of it next to the 1950 Barchetta made it look strange. It's not your camera, I don't think... was there a bit of metallic in it? |
No metallic that I saw John.
|
Doug - Thanks for posting these pictures. It's always nice to see what other parts of the country are doing for car shows these days.
Thanks again for taking the time to share them. |
Re: tyre covers.
I already make them, they are called SlickShoes and they wrap around slicks to protect from picking up stones en route from the grassy paddock to the start of Hill climbs, sprints etc and same again with hot tyres back to the paddock.Sized for the tyre. |
