Hey Embraer, is your F355 on BaT?

Saw this car today, looks very familiar.....

1995 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta 6-Speed | Bring a Trailer

Mna, that is a nice car. The comments, as usual, are hilarious. Some people...

Man, BaT is such a rabbit hole for me, I could spend hours browsing there.

Jeff Alton 07-08-2017 04:42 PM

I am a little weary of BAT, but I guess that goes for all auction sites. We have a 77 turbo at the shop that was bought on BAT and is nothing like how it was represented....

theFONZ 07-09-2017 12:03 AM

Bring-A-Trailer has turned into Bring-your-huge-checkbook. It's nothing like what it started as. I used to check it out daily, but haven't looked in months.

black_falcon 07-09-2017 02:37 AM

Lol if I was the seller I would just cancel that auction, that car is getting roasted in the comments which will definitely drive the price down. It's definitely been rode hard.

Many of the BaT commenters remind me of this meme. Guys who probably drive a Ford Tempo but take pleasure in tearing down others.

IIRC, his is a silver blue convertible.

Edit: Oops... his is a Berlinetta also. See 3rd paragraph here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/788241-why-i-hate-ferraris-2.html#post7819153

Agreed Matt! Armchair quarterbacks.

This. We had a similar car come through. Good from afar but far from good....

pavulon 07-09-2017 01:10 PM

Did the new owner seek satisfaction from seller or BAT?

Spend a few hours there, and you tire of it quickly.

I look look at final sale prices, but no longer bother reading the carbon copy comments.
Every auction has the delusional dreamers posting "Oh, I got called into a meeting, otherwise, I would have totally bid on this!"
BAT is little more than an online tire-kicker circle jerk nitpicking stuff like A/C. The comments section may have already jumped the shark.

Seahawk 07-09-2017 01:49 PM

Ok.

I look at BaT everyday over coffee.

I know this is ten years old, is a Sirens Song, etc. but for a KBB of $11.5 somebody stop me.

Ha! Yep..my car. I've thoroughly enjoyed the machine (as many commentators pointed out) but time to move on. Interestingly, the guy who I bought it from, is kind of reaching folk hero status. (He's a low post count pelican, too).

It'll be interesting to see how the auction goes. I'd buy my car with 44k miles, driven and maintained, versus a 5k mile garage queen that only gets rubbed with a diaper.

Lots of private messages on there. Most people who bid....don't comment.

MysticLlama 07-11-2017 06:18 PM

Hm, I think I might have to bid on that depending on where it goes price wise in the next couple of days. I have loved those for a long time, and something driven and well maintained might be the way to go.

Plus, I know where to flame the PO when any little thing goes wrong. ;)

my Buddy has a E30 M3 he purchased during the market downturn for 12K. It is pristine. He barely drives it more than around town once in a while.

He just purchased a 318is from BAT with a S14 swapped in, the car was everything they said it was and more. He loves it and is very happy with the purchase. There are some winners on there.

Here is the auction page:

$11.5K could look cheap really fast once things start breaking. And they will start breaking......

The way I've been working lately, I might be up at 4 AM or shortly thereafter! SmileWavy

And 11pm is no excuse, my old man will text me back that late, and hes got more than a few years on you. ;)

Jeff Alton 07-11-2017 08:37 PM

Good luck with the sale, pretty car. The 355 is my fave. We have a motor apart right now, but this one got filled with water from a fire hose when the showroom it was in was on fire.
