National Hamburger Day...

I just ate one from one of the top 50 spots in the US (according to the local news I just turned off). I don't eat them very often, but damn that was goooooood :)

Too stuffed to get back "at it"...yet!

Isn't NHD May 28th?

I don't care....might be "fake news", but it was a REAL good burger!!!

....back to work (stuffed tho' I are).

Any day is NHD for me.
It's all in the meat...and the quality of bun, IMO.
I'm a basic hamburger guy...mustard, catsup, mayo, pickles, maters, lettuce.
Local Italian restaurant has the best I've ever had...and I've had plenty. Their own meat blend and homemade buns.

Hey, they announced on my morning news it was national milk chocolate day. You guys are hereby cleared to follow up with some of that after your hamburgers.

Especially Fridays in the springtime!

Granted I've never had a Whataburger...but I don't think you can get a great burger from a chain. There are at least a half dozen local places that can throw down however....choice meats, hand made patties, premium buns, and reasonably priced....damn, y'all just made me hungry again :)

Agreed. No chain can whip a small scale custom burger. Homemade pickles, aioli, custom ketchup......

But WB seriously kicks ass.

I'm no hamburger snob...I'll take two :).

I hadn't been to this joint in a while, it's close by so I went and grabbed one to go. Got home, turned on the news, and there they were...
talkin' about NBD, saying this place was a top 50 (I had no clue), and interviewing the guy who just handed me my order....I figured the burger gods musta been happy....I know I was :)

We still have em around here.

Don Ro 07-28-2017 05:04 PM

I've heard good things about WB...we have them here locally.
One winter night I decided to try them...drive-up window...pulled over to have a quick bite and the bun was cold...and the cooked meat soon followed the cold bun.
That spoiled the whole event for me.
I may try them again.
.
PS In 'n Out ain't too bad...in a pinch.

Good old in-n-out. Animal style fries are better though.

Going to create some debate but Southern Cali has the finest cars and hamburgers in the USA [emoji6][emoji16]

In the spirit of NHD, we had sloppy joe sandwiches on slider buns (had about 5) with enough for lunch tomorrow. We don't actually have hamburgers too many times, but I do enjoy a "Five Guys" 1/2 pounder with cheese, lettuce, Mayo, and catsup....throw in some fries, and we are there.

My wife and I have also been enjoying the experimentation (about once a month) with ground chuck, over easy egg, mayo, cheese. and homeade steak fries. Mmmm good.

Don Ro 07-28-2017 08:45 PM

Five Guys is decent...again, in a pinch.
I once asked for a rare patty for my dog in the car...they said city code won't allow it.
Must be cooked well done.
That's why I like my Italian restaurant...med rare burger - Yum!!!

dafischer 07-28-2017 09:02 PM

I'm kinda partial to the burgers from my grill. Favorite...pepperjack cheese on the med. rare 80/20 angus chuck burger, chopped red onion and ketchup on the bottom bun, burger topped with chili and my wife's pickled jalapenos chopped. I freeze the left over sauce from the pots of chilli that I concoct over the winter so we can have killer chili dogs and burgers in the summer.
