They may be lacking judgment, but they have decent reading comprehension. Some of them.

A lot of tattoo artists seem to have challenges with grammar and punctuation.

On the other hand maybe there are people who want to be a walking literacy test...

Deciding which pair of socks to wear this AM...I felt badly for the pair that I judged as being not desirable.
Resolved that major dilemma by choosing to not wearing any.

I made a comment yesterday about a couple single moms getting tattoos at the same time their kids could benefit with some quality food instead mcdonalds crap three times a day. I will be judgmental about those types of situations and don't give a damn whether some of you think that's right or not!

Yeah, It could be photoshopped.

But what I meant to say was that to me the tatt appears to contain a word or words. Can't make it out, though.

Seriously, since has been mentioned earlier in the thread.. people have been getting inked for millenia...Why is it such a taboo?

When I first visited China in 2008 , my wife and I joked about getting a tattoo, so we did... Not sure if I got some bio hazardous ink used but ... she translate the Mandarin and we got ying yangs...

I'm not ashamed nor do I really give a hoot what other think when they see it..

It was my decision, and has not affected my ability to make a living...

Then again I have held a job with the same company for going on 35 years.....
Excellent post Tim. Especially the first sentence. Dead on.

I couldn't give a flying fudge, what people think of my ink. I've done pretty good for myself in life. My tats don't seem to have been any kind of hinderence.

I have friends from all walks of life and professions, with ink. My friend Ron is an accomplished and highly respected trauma surgeon, he has a full sleeve on his arm, but I guess he must be "small minded", right??...

It's OK, for everyone with a misspelled tattoo, there are 100 people who think that that pictures like that are real and not poorly done fake images just to get clicks...

I find it odd that the several attempts I've made to make this discussion about health risks have been brushed aside in favor of condemnation of personal choices.

I'll just go on posting what I find, but doubt it will act as a deterrent to anyone seeking acceptance in their peer group. Might as well make a film called Reefer Madness (Tell Your Children).

Think Before You Ink: Are Tattoos Safe?

Tattoos are more popular than ever. According to a 2015 Harris Poll, about 3 in 10 (or 29%) people surveyed have at least one tattoo. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is also seeing reports of people developing infections from contaminated tattoo inks, as well as adverse reactions to the inks themselves.

Questions raised about tattoo inks, cancer

Almost all inks, dermatologists say, contain chemicals that can cause allergic and other reactions. ..........................

“Cancer may easily occur in tattooed skin independent of the ink or pigment. . ......................

Since 2009, EU members have identified more than 20 inks from the United States as dangerous and banned their sale. .....................

“Because the FDA cannot require a cosmetics company to submit data before marketing a product or require a company to tell the FDA when they receive a report that one of its products has caused an adverse reaction in a user, the FDA may not know when there are problems,” Putnam, an FDA spokesman, says.
Maybe the tattoo lovers need to start their own thread with a "no body shaming" warning in the headline so they can share their art we have heard so much about.

I'm just curious about the Porsche tattoos, my 3rd cousin's son has a 550 Spyder on his neck. She was horrified when he got it, he was working in a Porsche shop at the time, it does match is rambunctious attitude I'll say that much.

I think a tattoo lovers thread would be a good idea. I would love to hear about the thought process behind some of this body art (why did you originally want it, do you still like it, have people commented on it, do you offer an explanation of it's meaning to onlookers) The "no body shaming" would be difficult to police with some of the highly opinionated members here though.

Getting tatted is like riding a motorcycle. For most people these are matters of risk management.

It will be interesting to watch the epidemiology of hepatitis, skin and lymph cancers. I cringe when I see heavily tatted skin. This cannot be good.

At this point, most of us are reading what the person's skin says into what we surmise the person underneath it is. Hopefully people's tats tell their stories. I'm presuming they do.

As such, to me tats are a statement or several statements that I have to deal with even before I know anything else about the person. Like green hair. What are you telling me and why are you telling me this?

'Oh, can I have salsa instead of ketchup?' is more likely a question I'd have for a tatted person than 'So, how are you financing this surgical center?' Small-minded ornery old coot thinking getting in the way again.

So kill me now for I have sinned.

You mean I might ask how the tattoo needle got through the forest of hair, and what's the point when it's obstructed by back hair and rolls and rolls of fat? Nawwwww....
